Pontins Prestatyn Sands Holiday Park

Was really worried after reading other reviews. It's a cheap place to sleep. Sure you could find dirt if your really looked (during boards, top of wardrobe etc) but the basic kitchen/bathroom etc was ok. Should have had a sofa bed, was a bit weird that we just had two single beds in the living room and no sofa but as we only slept there it wasn't such an issue. A but noisy at pub turn it time but not too bad over all. As a cheap sun deal not bad. Would I go back? Deities what else in the area was available. Would I pay full price? Absolutely not. Worst thing is that it could be a great place if they'd just put a bit of money into it.

Amazing place I would highly recommend this for a nice holiday in Wales.
It has had a dodgy past, but they have recovered from that! Just one thing, one staff member lied on one day and said something was on in the holiday park when it actually wasn't. But apart from that I recommend you should go if you're looking for a holiday in Wales.

Drab, dreary, dirty, tired, inhospitable rooms, 'top notch' rooms are a rip off and only offer a French door as its upgrade. Reception staff were scruffy. Linen packs are all nylon / polyester including the sheets and pillow cases, and cigarette paper thin! Bring your own. Can't use cooker and heat water simultaneously, so cooking a meal whilst others bathe is not possible. Dreadful for a family/group trying to get fed and ready to go out. Dirty accommodation included a sanitary towel stuck on the wall down the side of the bed (cleaners obviously don't pull the beds out to clean) and a leg missing from the sofa bed. Upgrade is a nonsense - don't be duped. Pontins is not a place to enjoy your surroundings and is completely inferior to other well known holiday park providers. Save disappointment and book elsewhere!

First time to this place, and most likely my last. Chalet we had was clean and had very basic facilities. I understand that cost is an issue in places, but the cooking utensils are just a joke. Frying pan you could spit through, which everything stuck to was my biggest annoyance. Entertainment, if you could call it that was third rate at best. Good if you are under 10 or had a frontal lobotomy. Again though, staff do their best with the little they get. Anyway, we have been there and know not to go back

Just come back and we had an absolutely fabulous holiday. The accommodation was clean and had everything we needed for a base for our holiday. The only issue we had was the pull out sofa bed, it is really uncomfortable so be aware. The kids had a great time and the blue coats shows kept then entertained. Will definitely be going again

We have just spent 4 days in the bungalow (999). The bungalow was adequate living accommodation although the lounge was short on seats for 6 people to sit. We had problems with 2 of the tv which was sorted promptly. And problems with the boiler and water pressure and we was unable to use the bath due to this. The windows were dirty and desperately need cleaning. We took our 2 dogs but when we first arrived we couldn't let them in the large rear garden as the gate is broken and a fence panel missing.
The site itself looks shabby and depressing. Signage missing on the pub and flags ripped or missing not really encouraging, looks more like a prison camp than a holiday camp. On a positive note the children's play was really good and the grand children had a great time.

If you just want to sleep and are not bothered about what your room is like then it's fine. We went for a last minute long weekend lucky for us the only thing was a missing kettle which reception replaced. But it took a hour of queuing as the complaints line to reception was longer than the check in line in the entertainment room.It says they have renovated the place on the Web site.They have, but only the main building not the apartments. The bathrooms still have fittings from the 70s no showers. Bedding from when the rooms that been cleaned where left under stairs to upper floors causing a fire hazard.

Absolutely the dirtiest place I have ever seen! Stayed for Easter, 1st day they lost the keys for the pool, 2nd day we went and the changing rooms were absolutely filthy and this was first thing. Couldn't see out of the living room window and there were piles of dirty linen and broken glass everywhere. It's basic, but just needs a massive deep clean and it would be fine for a cheap break. Bring your cleaning stuff, we had to even wipe the previous occupants food off the table.

Stayed here for a conference. Chalets slowly improving. Clean and functional. Issue with slow filling toilet fixed on request. Staff are friendly. Some good facilities for kids. Cheap and cheerful holiday.
