🛑🛑 RCT CEMETERY SITES TO CLOSE FOR THREE WEEKS ON TUESDAY 🛑🛑
Rhondda Cynon Taf council has announced it will close its cemetery sites across the borough from Tuesday, April 14, for a period of three weeks.
This is to coincide with the predicted peak of the virus in Wales and also to allow maintenance work to be carried out.
... In a statement, the council said: “Council staff will be working in accordance with national social distancing guidelines and the public are advised to show support for our teams by giving a wave.
“The council would like to thank our residents for the overwhelming and continued support at this difficult and unprecedented time.”

⚽️ Two rival football teams, Pontypridd FC and Pontypridd Town Juniors FC, have ‘clubbed’ together to show their thanks and appreciation to Rhondda Cynon Taf Council’s Recycling and Waste crews.
⚽️ The amazing gesture has seen over 180 Easter eggs being donated by the teams and given to the crews, who will be working all over the Easter bank holiday to collect residents’ recycling and waste as normal.
⚽️ The frontline heroes have continued to work throughout the national emer...gency and many of the workers are going above and beyond, with some crew members even moving out of their family homes to protect vulnerable family members so that they can continue to do their jobs.
⚽️ Both football teams were set to give the chocolate eggs to their junior players, but the juniors selflessly wanted to donate them to frontline heroes, who are working hard to deliver key services in our community. Picture credit: Rhondda Cynon Taf Council.

Another temporary field hospital has been confirmed for RCT.
A site in the Cynon Valley will be used as a field hospital creating 150 extra beds to support the response of the local health board to Covid-19.
Council office accommodation in Abercynon will be used by Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board to create additional emergency bed capacity in the region in preparation for the demand coronavirus will create in the coming weeks.
... Rhondda Cynon Taf Council will work in partnership with the UHB to make the Ty Trevithick building operational as a field hospital by mid-April.
Leader of the council, Andrew Morgan, said: "There is an urgent need for our local health board to create the emergency bed capacity necessary to respond to the Covid-19 pandemic.
"It is estimated that Cwm Taf Morgannwg will require 1,000 emergency hospital beds to respond during the peak of this pandemic, and this therefore requires the local health board to think outside the box in its approach to create this vital capacity in a very short space of time."

This is a weird time for us all, but some kids are missing out on big milestones that we all perhaps took for granted ..... We spoke to three RCT youngsters about their experience of lockdown and what’s going on in their heads.
