📟 10.30 - Whilst on training exercise this morning our volunteer crew onboard our Atlantic 85 lifeboat were flagged down by a windsurfer to the east of Hutchwns Point. He was experiencing difficulties due to the tide and wind conditions and unable to get back to Sandy Bay. The crew took him and his kit onboard the lifeboat and dropped him back to the beach.

Last night our Lifeboat Operations Manager, Phil Missen MBE was presented with the fantastic sum of £800 by quizmaster Mal at The Marine, Porthcawl.
Mal has run the quiz at The Marine for the last three years whilst contracting for work in the area but is now moving on to a new contract and we wish him all the best for the future.
A big thank you to Mal and the patrons of The Marine for your support.

Rock angling is a popular activity throughout the Vale of Glamorgan Council and Bridgend County Borough Council Coastline. If you know someone who enjoys rock angling, please take a look at this video.
Between 2012-2016, 25 shore anglers died fishing the UK coast. 70% were swept in by waves. None were wearing lifejackets.
A group of experienced anglers joined the RNLI to find out what happens if they go into the sea, with and without a lifejacket.
... Modern lifejackets don’t get in the way and will give you more time to get help if you end up in the water.
Always wear a lifejacket.
