The Powerhouse Gym Aberdare has been owned by Gareth and Paul Parkman since August 2004 and since taken over has changed a lot and is welcoming to eveybody

We are holding our annual Powerhouse Christmas Evening Meal, accompanied by a few drinks on the 15th of December at 7pm in David’s Italian Restaurant Aberdare.
The table is booked for 20 at the moment, reserve your seat with myself Gareth, Ken or Jo in gym and place a small £10 deposit to secure your place.
Everybody is welcome; members old and new.

With big thanks to Greg we now have Monolift Attachments at the gym for the squat rack.
Please take care in using them and ask a member of staff how to set them up as they are Greg’s “pride and joy” after his private bars. Greg has worked tirelessly hard to get himself these pieces of equipment to help his progression within his chosen sport, so please respect them and use them with the due care and attention he would.
Any misuse of these will mean they will be removed from... the gym floor and only allowed out to certain members.

After hours the work continues and will for a few more hours yet.
New “walk way” flooring will be going down this weekend.
We need to say a huge thank you to “Mats the way we do it” which is supported by a grant from Pen Y Cymoedd Wind Farm Community Fund.
The fund was established by the energy company Vattenfall for the benefit of the communities hosting the Pen Y Cymoedd Farm.
... This is the first time the gym has been granted any funding, so we’d just like to once again say a huge THANK YOU!

Maria started off with personal training session, where she learnt all the basics and quickly progressed to training with her husband Alan who’s been an avid Powerhouse member for years.

Used to be a regular visitor at Powerhouse. Fantastic gym, a fine example of a proper gym, run by an absolute gentleman. I look forward to visiting again sometime soon.
Top local gym with a proper family feel all ages and levels of fitness welcome, superbly run by an excellent group of lads �
Took my 14 year old son for his first session and he loved it. Thanks for the welcome.
There are not many gyms that are still around that provide the hardcore atmosphere but with the friendly welcoming banter you'll find at Power House.
Been training here twice a week since the beginning of the year and enjoyed every session. The equipment is made to last and hits the target muscle perfectly with no unwanted stress.
Love this place and look forward to training here again next week.
Started trainin here bout 3 weeks ago. Pukka equipment. Nice heavy d/bells. And everythin is well maintained and clean. Staff are awesome. Guys in the gym are tidy. No usual "new guy" bullshit atmosphere. Top notch gym.
Powerhouse Gym was instrumental in my qualification for Mr Olympia in 2011 and also in my NABBA British Overall win in May 2016!

U know when the gym is on par when a pro body builder and best friend of Gareth , James Llewelyn trains there and also coaches clients to achieve there goals .

Arguably the best gym around, put aside the excellent equipment and machines to train on. The management and staff are professional and brilliant. The members are fantastic too, helpful and willing to pass on knowledge and training tips. Finally you can purchase all the protein supplements & accessories too. All around a great experience and I am privileged to train and be a member of such a fine establishment.
Was first time visiting the powerhouse, won't be my last very welcoming staff even if I do have a Bristol accent! Lol
Looking forward to a good back session there soon
