Was only stopping in for a quick drink, good selection of ales, dog friendly and nice staff.
Beds are comfy and shower is hot but otherwise it is a bit grim. Needs some serious investment and a bit of love and attention. The world's slowest bar man was fortunately replaced for the evening so we could actually get a drink in under 15 minutes which is what it had taken when we had first arrived.
Cheap, cheerful with friendly staff. Decent service and pub grub
Food pretty poor standard, just frozen and reheated pub grub. Service wasnt great. Bar staff looked annoyed that the pub was reasonably busy.
Probably the worst hotel that we have ever stayed in: it was very dirty, there was no WiFi or service connection in our room, the curtain was falling off the railing, a chair was broken, one of the lights were not working, no TV signal, dead flies on our beds, spiders all over the bathroom and no shower because there is "no room". Not to mention the noise from the bar downstairs that we could hear from our room. However the breakfast was OK, but I do not recommend this hotel to anyone despite the cheap offers.
Unclean, musty old place not well staffed or maintained. Price was right and location was great. No on site parking.
We stopped off on a Sunday afternoon after walking up Snowden for a well deserved pint. I had a pint of ale. Interestingly, the barman said all the ales tasted the same. I admire his honesty in this age of craft this and craft that. My better half had a gin and tonic (unfortunately there was no lemon slice available). Channel VH1 was playing on the TV and it was all perfectly adequate.
Good services and value for money
Lovely place to stop for a drink and not the usual rip off prices either. Locals were really friendly and the open fire was bliss on a cold wet day. Highly recommended.
