1. Who we are
RAAPS-UK (Network of supports and actions for social protection) is a new charity established in Wales /UK working for the prevention or relief of poverty in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). . .

Dear Sir /Madam,
I am writing to introduce myself and the work of the RAAPS-UK, a charity working in the care of victims of human trafficking and modern slavery, orphan and abandoned children (women), homeless and victims of wars in the Dem. Rep. Congo. The RAAPS-UK was founded in 2015 and become a registered charity 1171963 in Wales in March 2017. We are among or the only Roman Catholic charity in Wales working in this field. For the moment we are seeking to run or start the activities.

RAAPS-UK (Network of supports and actions for social protection) is a new charity established in Wales /UK working for the prevention or relief of poverty in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) by providing or assisting in the provision of education, training, housing, healthcare projects and all the necessary support designed to enable individuals to generate a sustainable income and be self-sufficient.
2. Why we have established
We are focusing on lives of vulnerable children and women in the Democratic Republic of Congo i. e. poor children and families with hunger and victims of wars; abused and trafficked children and women together with orphan children…… RAAPS-UK is trying its best to gather, care for them and make them feel at home in their own country by giving them a basic education… Many children in the DRC haven’t got the chance to go to school and others are dyeing with hunger, there are many reasons for that such as wars, absence of parents, poverty, crimes and abuses, drugs etc. Some of them dreams are to go abroad for a better life as a result of massive coming to Europe. . .
3. What we are trying to achieve
RAAPS-UK after realizing and knowing that Education is a sure means towards children’s future and the consideration of English language throughout the world, has created a project for poor and trafficked women, abandoned or homeless and orphan children in order to build or construct English schools. The project is called ‘’MODERN UK ACADEMY IN THE DRC (MUAD)’’. RAAPS-UK has in total five empty compounds to build English schools and dormitories in the following areas: Kinshasa, Bandundu province in Idiofa, Mokala, Ngembumu, Kikwit and Panu…in order to teach them the four skills of English (writing, speaking, listening and reading).
The structure of ‘’Modern UK Academy in the DRC (MUAD) will constitute of:
- 3 years of pre-primary education schools
- 6 years of primary education schools(y1, y2, y3, y4, y5, and y6)
- 6 years of secondary education schools(y7, y8, y9, y10, y11, and y12)
- 6 years of ESOL classes for adults. For example: Beginner, Pre-entry, Entry1, Entry2, Entry3, Level1, Level2 and Level3). At the end of each level students will be given a certificate of UK model.
