About Rbf Cancer Support Centre

RBF are a dedicated support group for people who have or have had cancer at any stage. RBF also support carers and close family members. The Centre goes through different stages with some members having only been recently diagnosed and currently going through treatment. Whilst others completed their treatment several years ago. Some of the members have experienced recurrences since the first diagnosis and some are living with secondary breast cancer. RBF also have members who are carers or close family members and support a loved one through difficult times. Some of the RBF members are both carers and patients. The charities aim is to support each other and know that just being in touch with each other is incredibly helpful. Cancer can be isolating and scary, but meeting others and sharing information makes a real difference. RBF hold Evening Meetings once a month and may have a cancer-related topic or an introduction to various complementary therapies or crafts with an external speaker and there is always plenty of time for coffee and tea. There is also Coffee Mornings held every month that are a chance for us to have a chat in comfortable surroundings at our support centre on Eirw Road, Porth. Craft and IT classes are a fun way to learn and introduce the members to new hobbies and acquiring new skills. As well as these regular meetings the Centre also holds social events, day trips and raising awareness of cancer whilst fundraising. "We are a force for change, listening to people affected by cancer and working together to improve cancer care".
