Renault Cardiff - Official Dealership

Visited today with a view to purchase a megane. Met with Joe who seemed friendly and helpful and showed us one model, I asked if I could test drive a car and was told to call back after viewing other dealers as they could not spare anyone for a test drive?? Promptly left site and purchased a car from a different dealer who could spare me some time!!! Very poor service my recommendation would be to make an appointment or prepared to be pushed aside!!!

We’ve dealt with John in the new cars, both Lees in the used cars section, Luke in finance and the lovely John Stokes on customer care, all these guys just can’t do enough for you.

The vehicles we have purchased from here have always been as described, we’ve had some great deals and all warranties have always been honoured.

We’ve got to the point now that we will never shop anywhere else for any of our cars.

Good service when it came to advice. Though I came to purchase my used car (it had been through service and checks apparantly). I then came to sign my money over and the car was due an MOT in under a month. They did arrange to have me drop the car in for the MOT for free and collected and delivered my car which was brilliant, but poor attention to detail before actually making the sale.

The car came with 1 year warranty, though as the car was 3.5 years old this took me to 4.5 years old (outside renaults usual 4 year warranty).

This resulted in me unable to extend the warranty in any way as the official 4 year warranty had ended. I am now stuck with a hefty repair bill for a 5 year old car (replacement turbo) and I didn't even have a renewal or expiry notification of my warranty.

My car went back in regarding issues with the brakes (squeaking constantly, issues with the windows as well as the stop start technology). Did any of this get resolved under warranty? No. The battery was charged up to 100% which obviously meant the stop start would work when I collected it, but the actual issue (alternator) was ignored. The brakes were found to be under the worn limit when checked via a local garage (passed the MOT with renault). The windows continue to make a grinding noise upon opening and closing to this date and the doors clunk and clank as they open and close. My opinion is that renault cardiff are quick to sell used cars, but the quality checks you would expect from a main dealer are just not there. Even when you pick up on the problems yourself, they ignore you.

An alternator, a window motor, front brake pads and a replacement turbo later - 1.5 years after purchase (3 of these problems reported but not actioned under warranty).

Certainly won't be buying Renault again.

I have confidence that my car will be right when I pick it up after a device/repair or mot. Been using Renault Cardiff for 8 years now and never had to complain about their workmanship

The service department at this dealership spend more time health checking your vehicle and finding minor wear and tear issues than actually diagnosing the fault you have requested them look at! I took my car in today with a window regulator fault, this dealership then added up a list of recommend repairs that came to £2077? On a 9 year old vehicle that's only done 80000 miles? Absolute insanity! Hate the feeling of people trying to rip you off!
