Rg Roofing Contractors

I contacted this roofing firm to carry out two separate jobs on my cottage.
Job 1.
In May of this year, this company supplied me with a quote to fit upvc fascia boards, which were to go around my downstairs extension and repair a hole in my fibreglass roof.
Job 2
Mr Gooch gave me a quote to change my old upvc fascia boards on the pine end of my property, to moulded hardwood barge boards. He also agreed to extend the slate roof overlapping the boards.

We agreed a price for both of the above jobs, and we were told they would be completed within a month. We paid £850 in advance for materials required for the jobs, in the first week, men from this company turned up and fitted the fascias on the extension. This job was not finished, as my guttering was left on the floor, and the joints and the trim were not sealed. Two weeks after, Mr Gooch rang and asked for a further £800, this was to be used to pay for scaffolding and moulded hardboards.
He also told me the first job would be finished in a matter of days, we have not seen him since. In total we paid £1650 to Mr Gooch, since this payment, we emailed and phoned him multiple times, only to be met with a barrage of excuses.

We later found out that the scaffolder DOES NOT get paid until the job is done, so Mr Gooch lied to us about money for the scaffolder and the hardwood boards. Weeks and Months went past, it was now the end of November, 6 months from the original date and still no sight of Mr Gooch.

At this point, my wife and I decided to write Mr Gooch a letter, demanding the repayment of £800. Within four days of sending this letter, our scaffolding was taken down. So we paid for the scaffolding to be erected and taken down, albeit with NO work commencing.

We then decided to take Mr Gooch to the SMALL CLAIMS COURT, this came at a cost of £60 as we did it online. He was contacted by the COURT four days later. Within the next four days, we received a cheque for £860 from Mr Gooch.

My honest advice to anybody who is contemplating contacting Mr Gooch (RG ROOFING), regarding any sort of work is not to bother. This is because he WILL take money upfront, your job WILL NOT be done to any sort of satisfactory standard. He will constantly lie to you, and then fob you off with a barrage of excuses.

I can honestly say, I would not want to meet anybody like MR Gooch (RG Roofing) ever again. This individual caused my wife and I untold and unnecessary stress. If you have been caught by RG ROOFING, my advice is to take him through the proper legal channels to Court.

P.S I have only awarded one star because I had to, in order to post this review. If I could have awarded ZERO stars, I would have happily done so.

Great job done on replacing our flat roof. R G roofing provided a written quote giving full details of the job undertaken. The job was completed without any issues. I was impressed by the quality of the work. His team of men were professional, courteous and even cleaned up after themselves. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking to have work done.

Rob gives a 20 year guarantee for his roofs. The roof was leaking and has caused damage inside the house. He 'fixes' the problem... which ends up causing further damage. He then ignores messages and phone calls. Resulting in another company having to fix the issues, which has caused double the cost.... AVOID this roofer! Terrible service, definitely would not recommend!!

New roof fitted in Park Street last year By R G Roofing, it has transformed our house. It took a few weeks to complete , but well worth waiting for as it has transformed our house. First-class workmanship , and I would have no problem in recommending R G Roofing from bridgend.

I contacted RG roofing , as my mum had water coming through her kitchen ceiling. Within 30 minutes they arrived , and found the cause of the problem. They gave us a free quotation , with in two hours. After checking their reviews , we were happy except the quotation. The work was carried out the same day , and I would like to thank them , for getting the repair done , so quick. I will deafly be using this firm again on my own house.

Recently had R G Roofing come out and look at my flat roof problem, was extremely pleased as not only were they cheaper than the previous roofing company that come out but they offered a much better solution and completely re-roofed the whole area without compromising on quality and finish.
