Rhosddu News And Views Description

The name Rhosddu comes from the Welsh words rhos, "moor" and du, "black". Much of the area was developed in the second half of the 19th Century, when the railway through the area was built. Terraces were built to house colliers and other workers.
Rhosddu is home to the oldest international football ground in the world, the Racecourse. But
Wrexham AFC also played their home games in the 1881-82 and 1882-83 seasons at Rhosddu Recreation Ground (changing the club's name to Wrexham Athletic for one season), before moving back to the Racecourse Ground for the 1883-84 season, where they have remained ever since.
Rhosddu is home to Glyndwr University, Coleg Cambria further education college as well as a host of excellent sporting facilities.
It's our home and we're proud of it.
