Rockwood Dog Training Description
Rockwood Dog Training provides 10 week group puppy and adult dog training classes at Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced levels. The 10 week courses cost £100. 00 per dog including £30, 00 non refundable registration fee. Private consultations at home or at the center are also available. Dog aggression, separation anxiety and destructive dogs are just a few of the psychological and behaviour problems the we deal with.
Agility is included in the Intermediate and Advanced classes. For those handlers that which to further their dogs training, we have a film and trick training course on a Friday evening. They can then register with us and pursue a film career with their dogs.
We have a private area were you can access video help. This can be used as a backup to your course or start you off in the right direction. The videos will give you valuable help and advise which you can call on any time. If you are attending one of our courses, you can register for a reduced price of just £10. 00 for a 70 day period.
Rockwood Dog Training is based in Caerphilly, South Wales. The training centre is located at the base of a beautiful mountain valley and although set in lush welsh countryside is just minutes from the center of Cardiff. It has good access off Blackbrook Road with a car parking area. The training takes place indoors with a purpose built three span polly tunnel with astro turf floor which provides a large and ample area protected from the weather. At one end we have a tiered viewing gallery, which seats seventy people. It is used for talks, seminars and for members of the family to watch their dog working during class.
At the other end we have two private consultation rooms and a photo room which is used for the registration of dogs for filming. We also have a one acre fenced off area for outdoor training during the summer months. ''
At Rockwood Dog Training we pride ourselves with the style of training that we provide. Be under no illusion there is no quick fix solution, it takes hard work, motivation and lots of patients to achieve a well trained dog. With the advent of many TV programmes covering dog training it can easily appear that behaviour problems can be solved overnight.
Much of the hard work and time that has to be put in has been edited out. Our Instructors are here to train you how to train your dog. As you are learning a new skill, just like with any other skill, it will take time. Once your handler skills have been developed, only then will you start to see the benefit of your instruction.

With the recent progression of the Covid-19 pandemic, Rockwood will be continuing to operate as normal where possible until we are instructed otherwise by the government or other relevant authoritative bodies. With the advice from the government and World Health Organisation, Rockwood will be taking the following steps to help reduce the spread of the virus and keep our customers safe wherever possible.
1. All non-essential visits to the company workplace will now be carefull...y considered by staff before being allowed. 2. Rockwood Dog Training have now postponed group classes however we have now made more places available for private consultations with Martin or Ellen. Updates will be regularly available on www.rockwoodanimals.com 3. Hand wash stations and hand sanitiser stations are set up around our premises. Staff will be regularly washing their hands along with cleaning door handles, etc. If you will be attending private lessons for example, please respect and follow these measures. 4. If you suspect that you may be carrying the virus, please do not attend our premises. We are contactable on 07973930983 or via martin@rockwoodanimals.com for any enquiries or if you need to discuss anything with us. 5. When at Rockwood or interacting with any members of our team, please keep a minimum distance of 2m between each other and do not engage in direct contact such as the shaking of hands.
To clarify, if any staff member or visitor are showing symptoms of the virus, they will not be allowed into the premises. Rockwood must be immediately informed if you are scheduled to visit and you are showing symptoms of the virus.

Corona Virus Update
Due to resent changes in government policy regarding the Corona virus we are postponing all Group classes until further notice. We have done this with great regret, but feel is the responsible thing to do in the circumstances. Private lessons are still available and can be booked as usual through Ellen or Martin. Due to the high demand for these Martin will also be available to take private lessons.
