Roxanne King - Therapy Assistant/Personal Assistant For Disabled Children

Hello! I am a qualified and professional personal assistant and therapy assistant for disabled children and young adults in Pembrokeshire.

Since the age of 17 I have supported children and young adults with disabilities and additional learning needs. Since then I have taken part in numerous training sessions and gained a fair few qualifications along the way. But most importantly I have acquired my knowledge through my direct contact with many wonderful children, and this experience is certainly where I have gained most of my knowledge.

I am now living in a beautiful part of Wales, and I travel around Pembrokeshire and up to Swansea to support a number of children and their families. My roles are varied and include: therapy assistance, personal assistance and babysitting.

The support I offer for therapy support includes following therapy programmes written by private therapists and the NHS therapists. I have worked with many therapists and attended many specialist centres over the years. Since originally being from Essex I started my therapy support journey working with Brainwave (Witham), Bobath (London) and Kids Physio Works (Colchester). Since moving to Wales I have had contact with and visited Bobath (Wales), Equinox (Crosshands) and Skybound (Haverfordwest).

I am also employed with a number of families through Direct Payments, and I am self employed to offer private support to families. This role is also very varied and I take pride in being creative and flexible within my roles. I complete personal care tasks, take part in LOT'S of messy play and baking, outings to clubs, community groups and attractions.
