Thank you!
"I came home from Royal Glamorgan Hospital yesterday after five days on ward 4 and five days on ward 20. I just want to say a huge thank you to all staff on both wards for all you did for me, also to all the doctors.
You were all brilliant and I would recommend Royal Glamorgan Hospital to anyone, so a huge thank you once again!" #patientfeedback

Have you tried our healthier options at Prince Charles and Royal Glamorgan Hospital restaurants? Fresh salad bars, fresh fruit, sandwiches, and healthier hot food are all available. #feelgreat

You don't get much gratitude and recognition... So from the bottom of my heart again thank you ever sooo much. #NHS #NURSESRULE

Was admitted Friday 6th July onto Ward 4, my thanks must go to the nursing staff who were extremely busy but saw to my every needs. Although on a 6 bed ward with 5 males dignity was maintained for everyone the whole time 2 nurses in particular were absolutely fantastic I only know their Christian names but Emma and Olivia I thank you for making my stay a good one.

This message is from my mother Mrs Yvonne Wall.

Just want to say a big thankyou to the NHS! I had an accident on 19th April. I fell from a ladder whilst cutting a tree resulting in a broken vertebrae. I was lucky that a young man called Josh saw me fall and came to my rescue alerting the ambulance. The crew were wonderful. Steve was the first responder and together with the paramedics they got me to the ambulance. My garden is very steep and with some difficulty managed to get me safely to hospital.

The care I had at the Royal Glam was second to none. Casualty staff who first attended to me were kind, considerate and reassuring.

I was then admitted to Ward 3. They were exceptional, seeing to my most personal needs as I was unable to. The doctors, nursing staff, physios, in fact every member of staff were so caring. I am on the mend now and just wanted to say a massive thankyou to everyone.

The doctors at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital actually saved my life, after I had a Triple A ( ruptured abdominal aneurysm) in A&E, I cannot praise them enough considering only approx 10-15 per cent of people with this actually survive. I would also like to say the nursing staff were brilliant, as after losing so much blood, and a 3 hour operation, i was not the easiest of patients to care for. Also a big shout out goes to all the people waiting in A&E for their help and concern, even though they were there for treatment too. i was told about this as I do not remember much after I passed out.

Night 3 on ward 4 for my 18 year old daughter. I have to say I was so worried about Her transferring from paediatrics to adult care and her first stay on an adult ward due to her diabetes, but the staff on the ward have been absolutely amazing and have gone out of their way to make sure she is ok. Fingers crossed home tomorrow or Wednesdayxx

I would like to thank the Maternity & Labour wards. The nurses, Doctors, Midwives & Kitchen Staff. I went in last Monday & came home on Friday. Every member of staff I met were amazing. The care I received on the run up to the birth of my son was fantastic & then the care for me & my son after my C -Section was also fantastic. A lot of people are so quick to complain but these wonderful staff members don’t get enough praise for the fantastic jobs that they do. I want to thank each & every 1 of you for everything you did for us. We are so grateful to you all xxx

I want to say thank you to all the staff at the Maternity & Labour unit. The staff took fantastic care of me while I have been pregnant, giving birth on 21st June 2018 and while I was on the ward with my daughter. I would like to thank a particular midwife inparticular Nicola, she was absolutely phenomenal with me, so supportive. She helped me so much, I don't think I would have coped as well without her. Thank you so much x

Having worked in a previous #nhstrust in #wales & bullied for being #gay, also being told not to speak Welsh as I work in an English speaking ward

I’ve found myself reserved and withdrew myself of who I was and ended up on antidepressants

But now I’m working for #cwmtafUHB, I’m encouraged to speak Welsh and I’ve joined the #LGBTnetwork within the #trust, plus I work with amazing supportive people

I’m now strong enough to wean off medication and be the person I’m meant to be

Can’t thank the staff enough at Royal Glamorgan hospital for the way I’ve been looked after during my prolonged stay. Mr Hanratty and his surgical team. Anna and her band of angels on Ward 8 who did their best to ease my pain, reassure me and look after my every need. The catering staff who did their best to encourage me to eat, Tina who kept the ward spotless. Words cannot express the gratitude I feel for each and every one of you. They all worked such long hours and in extreme heat and were still smiling at the end of a shift. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I would like to thank the girls on ward 18. I would also like to point out that today there was a gentleman making balloons for the children 'free'. I know it's run by a charity but what an amazing thing to do. My boy still has is elephant in bed with him. hard day made a little easier. Don't get enough credit the nhs!

I wasn’t a patient myself but my sister was! She got transferred from Prince Charles hospital!! Seeing my sister going through the pain of labour and not being able to help her was horrible enough with out seeing the way she was being treated by a certain member of staff on the maternity ward!! She said my sister could go for a walk to help bring the baby, but as my sister went to go for a walk she shouted at her to get back in her room, at the time my sister was having a contraction so my brother in law said can you wait please! She said no she needs to get in her room!!

Then she came in to my sisters room and told me I had to leave a 8, and told my brother in law he had to leave at 10 ( baring in mind my sister is in labour and we live 45 minutes away from the hospital)

Finally she asked my sister if she had food to which my sister replied not today I can’t eat I’m in too much pain to which the member of staff said ‘well you will never go in to active labour then’

My sister went into full blown labour and had the baby within 30 minutes if she had sent my brother in law home he never would have made it back in time!! I missed it as I was sent home at 8!

So over all it wasn’t a very pleasant experience!!

But my sister did say the mid wife who delivered her baby was lovely!!

User

Worst hospital I’ve been to after waiting 21 hours sat in A&E without even the offer of water and then a week as an inpatient with repeated tests and numerous bruised arms I’ve been discharged with no pain relief despite being in more pain now than when I arrived, waste of time even having this place here. Absolutely stinking conditions on ward 3 with human waste up the wall and floor left for 2 days and if you want a shower you have to move numerous commodes and other devices to even get into the shower before running the water.

Very few decent staff on ward 4..the majority including dawn were so ignorant, unhelpful and very deceitful. After having severe bowel problems and had a fit got taken there by a miserable paramedic who wouldnt let my wife in the car.

When arrived i had a ct scan then put on ward 4. I had one member of staff saying to me i shouldnt be in the nhs they dont know nothing about crohns and colitus. Then this same guy was trying to tell me what i should be eating and them claiming he can cure it!! And thats his side job.... so straight away by there your vetting of staff is scary.

The 1 st day i spent on ward 4 i was told by a nurse that i will need an mri scan because my fit was so bad... the day went by then i was told im not having a mri scan.

Day2. This was the day where i had to be seen by a specialist because i was dangerously consitpated, vomiting and got crohns disease. I was told at various time in the morning in afternoon no one said anythimg. My partner then asked Dawn when am i seeing the specialist and she said any time the doctor wil definately be seeing him today as my partner walked off the ward dawn then came to tell me he wasnt coming now hes in a meeting instead!!! Youll have to stay in and wait until tomorrow if hes not too busy was her response!

After being so upset and disheartened me and my partner then left the hospital as nothing was getting done.. youve left my suffering very badly mentally and physically after refusing to give me my prescribed medication, you complain you havent got enough hospital bed??? Shame on who ever runs this place and this letter will be going to the highest authoirty.

I’m a writing to express my absolute disgust at the waiting room for children at your hospital.

I think it’s great that there is a separate room for them and that they can be distracted however The floors for one are disgusting. Even a cigarette end on the floor.

The chairs are ripped and the play kitchen is broken with a screw sticking out of it. I cannot imagine how dirty this room is and the amount of germs in here.

I’ve come in today with my daughter who has scarlet fever and has to be isolated from the rest of A&E understandably.. however will this room be cleaned after she has been in here? I highly doubt it.

This needs to be sorted out ASAP.

I have birth in this hospital just over 2 weeks ago after being transfered from prince Charles

The staff i first met was completely awful towards me, my partner and my sister. In the middle of a contraction and was told to return to my room twice as she wouldn't wait for the pain to pass even though I was told I could go for a walk to help bring baby down . Told my partner (babies dad) had to leave at 10 even though I was in labour and we live 45 min away from the hospital. Gas and air was taken off me on arrival and was told I could be given co-cordamol even though it hadn't been the 6 hours inbetween doses ( didn't check my notes my sister informed her it was to early)

The only person that made what is meant to be a special moment in life worth it was the person who helped deliver my baby her name was Laura .. can't thank her enough! Also the night staff that did the check ups every 2 hours was amazing and great company for a chat. I really am grateful for them few people

The hospital even messed up her baby weight and birth time on the records .. so big thanks for that and running my birth experience for me. Hopefully won't have to return here for anything in future
