In support of local races we are encouraging runners to head to Abergynolwyn tonight for a classic (and tough!) 5k trail race - Ras Hendre Wallog. See the poster attached, 6pm start. Measuring at 3 miles and 375ft of ascent it is a tough little race with the first hill of 200mtrs at 1:3 gradient to test the legs from the gun! // We also realise that this is fair journey for some #runcoedybrenin #NightRun regulars from the north, so the Thursday night 'Hills from Hell' session WILL STILL GO AHEAD - 6:30pm from the shop. So, it's hills all round! 😀

This Thursday: Animal Trail Session - A one-hour session on an 800m loop. 1km warm up, push hard for 400 on the hill, ease down for 400, in small groups. Great summer speed work! 6.30pm from the shop // #runcoedybrenin

Yesterday was a proud milestone in the academi Coed y Brenin history as 16 members completed 60 laps (over 60 miles) to help raise £120 for the Dawn to Dusk event. Da iawn plant! // images Adele A. An academi Coed y Brenin session will take place this Saturday 7th July at 10.30am. Leaders on the day will be Matt, Dilwyn, Meinir and Geraint. As a change we are supporting the Meirionnydd Running Club ‘Dawn to Dusk’ event on Saturday.
This is an attempt by runners from all across the area to run as many 1 mile loops at Coed y Brenin as possible in 12 hours in support of Steffan Owen from Dolgellau.
Run Coed y Brenin will donate £2 per lap completed by each academi member... between 10.45am and 12 midday.

What an amazing shop. They opened up especially for me (we'd travelled a long way and had expected the shop to be open when it wasn't). Then Chris provided me with bucket loads of advice on kit and encouraged me to 'go and get muddy' in the demo trail shoes. I left the shop with 2 purchases. Happy customer!

What a beautiful place! Great facilities for all abilities and really welcoming had a lovely morning at a trial run workshop the Team were excellent, encouraging, friendly and provided lots of helpful tips to take away with and work on. Will definately be returning soon!!

What Matt and the team have built here is truly fantastic - whether you are a trail runner or a mountain biker (or both) there is something for you here. The trails are fantastic, there is a great little cafe on site for post-run/ride refreshments and the run shop is second-to-none. I heartily recommend a visit.

Went down today after a recommendation. Annie spent loads of time helping me measure and chatting. I took the trainers I thought I would like out (best idea ever) for a run and they were fab. Innovative idea of 'try before you buy' (I don't know how many shoes I've had that felt fine in the shop and then hurt after 2km running). I will definitely buy from here again �

Outstanding service from the guys at Run Coed y Brenin. Could not have been more helpful during our visit. Kept in touch to let me know when the Salomon S-Lab Wings were back in stock. Ordered over the phone and they arrived the following day, best trail shoes I've had so far, thanks for hooking me up!

Love this place. Camped close by in Betws-y-coed. Ran/walked the “long” one twice with my mates. Can’t wait for the next one!

Love this place! Staff and facilities are great. Events are amazing!! Feel like we’re in the Alpes in Wales 😍. So lucky to have such a place so close to us!

Love coming to coed y brenin. Either to take part in races, walking with the kids and dogs or just going to the shop and cafe for food!

I've been running for 33 years picked up a tip today just goes to show your never too old to learn. friendly staff that are very knowledgeable make you feel safe

Had a great day of learning how not to get temporarily locational displaced at Coed Y Brenin centre. Very good inaugural navigation for runners course by some incredibly experienced and friendly people. Although I ran the Gold Rush this morning and missed two way markers due to looking at the fantastic scenery� Can't wait to put my new skills to the test! Amazing place with great trails and incredible facilities and all for free!! Will definitely be back.

Great trails, stunning scenery, and excellent facilities. Never tire of visiting Coed-y-Brenin

Fantastic shop with expert advice, I asked for some good shoes for the Snowdon International mountain race and Matt was so helpful, we discussed my needs and previous shoes and then Matt made his recommendations. I was then able to go for a run in a pair with no obligation and put them through their paces on one of the wonderful trails literally outside the door of the shop. There was no pressure at all to buy anything and I could take my time while trying out the shoes. I decided on some Salomon s-lab sense 4 ultra, something I probably would not of considered without Matts advice and being able to take them for a test run only confirmed what Matt had said. I'm made up with them and can't wait for the race now!

All in all a fantastic and unique experience, I'd thoroughly recommend Run Coed y Brenin to anyone considering new running gear!

Fabulous little running shop. Brilliant customer service. Popped in for a quick look, got chatting to the lady and left with new running shoes for both hubby and I! Just wish I'd had my running kit with me to try them out on the trails.

Amazingly helpful staff with unrivaled knowledge of all things running. Nowhere better to visit when choosing new running equipment. They even have shoes to try on their purpose built tracks which run around some of the most breathtaking scenery in Great Britain. What wouldn't there to be liked about this place. We return time after time....

Absolutely brilliant day at Run Coed Y Brenin, on the Navigation Course. Great instructors in a great setting! Very informative, interactive and definitely worth while for anyone wanting to gain more confidence in map reading for trail running. Thanks to Matt for organising a great day as always!!!

A running shop, centre and place of education (trail running courses, navigation courses, ultra running weekends etc) by runners for runners. These guys really know their stuff, and are always happy to help and advise. Whether you want a new pair of trainers for the trails or to enter an event, I can't recommend Run Coed Y Brenin enough! Great atmosphere, great support, great events, great stock choice, great community
