Anyone interested in buying a classic/modern classic, should go check out the Mazda MX5 album I've just uploaded. It shows how quickly some potential MOT work/superficial rust (to the naked eye) can quickly become a pretty intensive restoration.
Obviously if you're looking at a MX5 specifically, the photo's will highlight all the major areas for concern. Bare in mind this is a well maintained/cared for example. Be wary of anything that has had any repairs in the past, even mo...re so if they've left them visible (mot patches etc) as it will say a lot about the rest of it's maintenance.
A bit of cheap summer fun could end up being £1500 down the pan and you would have been better off renting something for a few months.
I'll be adding to the album over the next couple of days as it nears completion.

To customers past and present,
As we are on an ABP Port Dock, possession of certain items that may be considered a misdemeanour off the port, can be considered rather serious on the port.
This includes possession of any Shania Twain paraphernalia.........

Still on the look out for my little Honda. If anyone has any information, I would be so grateful.
As its on the business insurance, I'm not even sure if it's worth claiming, as my premiums will just go up for the next 5 years anyway!

Rusty Restos is Closed!
Well, the doors will still be open, and the kettle still on, but I won't be taking on any more projects for the rest of 2019.
After burning myself out last year, and having to take some time off. I will be completing the Mazda MX5 restoration and then concentrating solely, on my own projects.
... Anyone who knows me, will know I've been collecting car and bike projects, for the past couple of years. Now it's time to get them all done!
When I first had the idea to start Rusty Restos, it was never to just restore cars for the other people. I wanted to be able to help with people working on their own projects, to help the DIY'er with part of the process that maybe they didn't have the tools/machinery or skills to do. So for the smaller jobs, I will still be available.
Which brings me on to my next announcement......
YouTube!
I'll be posting all sorts of content up all of which will be automotive related, including plenty of tutorials for the home mechanic and restorer. I'll also be back on a race bike this year, so I'm sure there'll be plenty of crash videos.... Find me on YouTube as Dominic Evola.
I will keep this page updated with everything I'm getting up to, some of my personal projects I'll be doing this year are......
Kawasaki KX250f Road Registered Supermoto BMW E39 M5 BMW E38 740i Suzuki GSXR 400 RR BMW E30 340i..... MK1 VW Caddy 1.8T MK2 VW Caddy Nissan Skyline R32 GTST
And hopefully I'll stop buying buying fucking cars.
Thanks to those who read this far!

Apologies for the dark pics, but Work has started on this MX5 which I actually had the pleasure of going to view/buy many moons ago!
It’s in for sills, rear quarters, shocks and subframe bushes! Hopefully will be on the road for another 15+ years when it’ll be well in to classic status.
