Went yesterday for tea, food was fantastic, lovely and fresh, deserts amazing, service was great lovely and friendly staff. Will be back again soon

Went for the first time on Wednesday....was so good we came back today with the family... mac and cheese is superb!

Visited today for Sunday lunch. Was a lovely meal. Some places for Sunday lunch the veg and potatoes are hard but this today lovely couldn't fault it and the servers were friendly and accommodating

This was our second visit as the first one was so bad we vowed never to go again. The food was fantastic as was the first time but the service was exceptional. At last you have the right staff. Thank you Kirsty and team. We will be back soon

Stopped off in passing and watched the World Cup and had some lunch. The food was outstanding, highly recommended!

One of the nicest pizzas ever tried fair play and a lovely pint of Bud to wash it down. Definitely recommend eating here

Nice place, the food was very good and tasty; in addition the portion size is very good value for money. The service was excellent, friendly and helpful. Overall a very pleasant experience I would whole heartedly recommended.

My two friends and I have been staying at the adjacent Hampton by Hilton this weekend and decided to eat at Sawyers.



Right from the start, the service has been warm and welcoming and the team have excelled in their hospitality.



We have now had three dinners and two breakfasts here, which have all been as good as each other.



Food is freshly prepared, which means this may not suit your needs if you are in a hurry.



We were more than happy to wait and our food was excellent. The locally sourced meat is quite superb. The steaks are as good as they get and the sausages, bacon, black pudding served at breakfast (breakfast is only served on a Saturday and Sunday) are fantastic.



I would not hesitate to recommend Sawyers to anyone and would encourage any locals to visit as well.



The entire team (kitchen team too) deserve a standing ovation for service and friendliness.



We are from London, but will be back again in the future.

Loved your Nachos, not the typical out of a pack pub ones. Great hot-dog, massive onion rings, awesome selection of drinks. Loved the Cardiff dry gin, can highly recommend.

I ordered the Sri Lankan curry and my partner ordered the waffles and chicken! OMG food to die for �� I wish we discovered it earlier into our stay in the area!! Staff couldn’t do enough for us and the restaurant was clean and tidy with a brilliant atmosphere! We need more Sawyers!

Came on holiday from England for a few days break to Wales for the first time and stayed in the Hampton hotel. We thought that we would try out the sawyers restaurant and we were amazed at what we served. Was a great amotshpere very good service, was polite and friendly. The food tasted really good and the way it was served up was brilliant, it had a proper American feel to it. Also we received 10% discount because we were staying at Hampton hotel. I would definitely recommend this as a great place to eat. And will definitely go again if I come back to Wales.

Went there yesterday got seated straight away. Had our drinks order taken within few mins of arrival. Food didn't take too long either. Loved the butterfly prawns as starter. Stuff were friendly and food was good. Not too busy or overcrowded. Would recommend a visit

Visited last night 5 people. Food was really lovely. Especially liked the veggie hotdog and presentation of food. Only slight complaint was a very long wait to get desserts ordered. The waitress was great. Young girl with long blonde hair but she was so busy running around and i think didn't have chance to come back to us. Felt sorry for her. Prices on a par with other well known American restaurants. Overall though really enjoyable and will return.

Food is great, restaurant is clean and tidy and staff were lovely, however... we specifically chose this place so after the food we could have one of them milkshakes that are advertised on the Facebook page & in the Voice magazine BUT apparently because the management wasn't there they couldn't make these for us as the manager has never taught her staff how to make them. This is very disappointing because it was advertised in numerous places. You really shouldn't advertise them if you can't produce them on a regular/consistent basis. Like I said food was great and also great vegetarian options but I am disappointed.

My family and I had a good meal here on 24 April. We were a bit disappointed as there were quite a few things unavailable from the menu, so had to change our meal selection several times but when we got the food it was lovely. The service was excellent, the one waiter out front was manic and we certainly couldn't understand why there was 2 chef's and 1 waiter?!?! But he worked his socks off rushing round all the tables and even had service with a smile, he alone would have 5 stars. We were waiting a while for drinks etc but we all just felt sorry for him because he was on his own.

Food was lovely. Everyone enjoyed their meals. 5☆ for food!

Always liked sawyers,chocolate fudge sundae my daughter favourite but you've changed it why? It's now awful... we don't want Marshmallow,strawberry sauce etc we want chocolate hot cake,icecream,cream and more chocolate.

The food was lovely but service was a bit slow when it was only half full, the website booking I'd made hadn't been received and it was a bit too much like a rowdy pub than a restaurant/grill. In fairness this was largely due to the booth next to us being full of lads drinking but even so, I was a bit disappointed. I would probably go back but not for a while and I wouldn't go at 7pm on a Friday again. £50 for a burger, a pizza, a hot dog and 3 non alcoholic drinks seemed a tad excessive too. Shame really.

Used to be a fairly regular visitor here but haven't been for a couple of months, have to say it was so disappointing that I doubt we'll go back. Service was poor, so slow( it wasn't that busy) and waitresses seemed uninterested. Food mediocre when it eventually arrived, menu has changed and now the little extras that were included are charged as extras and the drinks are just ridiculously expensive. Quite sad really that what used to be a vibrant, different place to eat has gone so far downhill.

Eaten here three times previously and couldn't fault it but what a change this evening! After being seated by a very abrupt male waiter who told us there was a 30 minute wait on food we then sat for 30 minutes and it took my partner going to the bar to complain for someone to come and actually take a drinks order.. food arrived within 15 minutes so the actual wait is on service and not down to the kitchen as we were originally told. We won't be returning in a hurry

Went all the way and it was closed. Says open on website and Facebook.

Stopped by to have a stake before hitting the M4 home, and was very disappointed. The steak that came up was insipid and light grey all the way through, a true wast of a ribeye, and not worth £21. I could not recommend this place at all anymore... a shame as it was my go to place for this area for a good 3 years at least.



Not being funny, but if you can't cook a steak, your cooking skills are in need for improvement to say the least. It was like they put a cold steak in a cold pan and slowly heated it up.



Also staff didn't even ask me if the food was alright, giving me a chance to change it. Very poor indeed.



Would never return...

Had a awful meal today breakfast burger, it came with chilli and jalapeño peppers, Im allergic to chilli and jalapeño peppers why on earth serve that with breakfast? Its not on your menu! Plus the burger was under cooked served by the only member of waiting staff sneezing and coughing over everything!

Always liked sawyers,chocolate fudge sundae my daughter favourite but you've changed it why? It's now awful... we don't want Marshmallow,strawberry sauce etc we want chocolate hot cake,icecream,cream and more chocolate.

Meal yesterday was lovely,staff not so much.

Not they were rude or didn't do thier job but that's all they did no personality people who have a long day,work hard and pay deserve to be made to feel thier business is wanted.

The food was lovely but service was a bit slow when it was only half full, the website booking I'd made hadn't been received and it was a bit too much like a rowdy pub than a restaurant/grill. In fairness this was largely due to the booth next to us being full of lads drinking but even so, I was a bit disappointed. I would probably go back but not for a while and I wouldn't go at 7pm on a Friday again. £50 for a burger, a pizza, a hot dog and 3 non alcoholic drinks seemed a tad excessive too. Shame really.

Used to be a fairly regular visitor here but haven't been for a couple of months, have to say it was so disappointing that I doubt we'll go back. Service was poor, so slow( it wasn't that busy) and waitresses seemed uninterested. Food mediocre when it eventually arrived, menu has changed and now the little extras that were included are charged as extras and the drinks are just ridiculously expensive. Quite sad really that what used to be a vibrant, different place to eat has gone so far downhill.

Eaten here three times previously and couldn't fault it but what a change this evening! After being seated by a very abrupt male waiter who told us there was a 30 minute wait on food we then sat for 30 minutes and it took my partner going to the bar to complain for someone to come and actually take a drinks order.. food arrived within 15 minutes so the actual wait is on service and not down to the kitchen as we were originally told. We won't be returning in a hurry

Went all the way and it was closed. Says open on website and Facebook.

Stopped by to have a stake before hitting the M4 home, and was very disappointed. The steak that came up was insipid and light grey all the way through, a true wast of a ribeye, and not worth £21. I could not recommend this place at all anymore... a shame as it was my go to place for this area for a good 3 years at least.



Not being funny, but if you can't cook a steak, your cooking skills are in need for improvement to say the least. It was like they put a cold steak in a cold pan and slowly heated it up.



Also staff didn't even ask me if the food was alright, giving me a chance to change it. Very poor indeed.

Had a awful meal today breakfast burger, it came with chilli and jalapeño peppers, Im allergic to chilli and jalapeño peppers why on earth serve that with breakfast? Its not on your menu! Plus the burger was under cooked served by the only member of waiting staff sneezing and coughing over everything!

Went for the first time on Wednesday....was so good we came back today with the family... mac and cheese is superb!

Visited today for Sunday lunch. Was a lovely meal. Some places for Sunday lunch the veg and potatoes are hard but this today lovely couldn't fault it and the servers were friendly and accommodating

This was our second visit as the first one was so bad we vowed never to go again. The food was fantastic as was the first time but the service was exceptional. At last you have the right staff. Thank you Kirsty and team. We will be back soon

Stopped off in passing and watched the World Cup and had some lunch. The food was outstanding, highly recommended!

One of the nicest pizzas ever tried fair play and a lovely pint of Bud to wash it down. Definitely recommend eating here

Nice place, the food was very good and tasty; in addition the portion size is very good value for money. The service was excellent, friendly and helpful. Overall a very pleasant experience I would whole heartedly recommended.

My two friends and I have been staying at the adjacent Hampton by Hilton this weekend and decided to eat at Sawyers.



Right from the start, the service has been warm and welcoming and the team have excelled in their hospitality.



We have now had three dinners and two breakfasts here, which have all been as good as each other.



Food is freshly prepared, which means this may not suit your needs if you are in a hurry.



We were more than happy to wait and our food was excellent. The locally sourced meat is quite superb. The steaks are as good as they get and the sausages, bacon, black pudding served at breakfast (breakfast is only served on a Saturday and Sunday) are fantastic.



I would not hesitate to recommend Sawyers to anyone and would encourage any locals to visit as well.



The entire team (kitchen team too) deserve a standing ovation for service and friendliness.



We are from London, but will be back again in the future.

Loved your Nachos, not the typical out of a pack pub ones. Great hot-dog, massive onion rings, awesome selection of drinks. Loved the Cardiff dry gin, can highly recommend.

I ordered the Sri Lankan curry and my partner ordered the waffles and chicken! OMG food to die for �� I wish we discovered it earlier into our stay in the area!! Staff couldn’t do enough for us and the restaurant was clean and tidy with a brilliant atmosphere! We need more Sawyers!

Had a meal here this evening, good service and great food. Definitely be visiting here again

First time here and definately won't be the last. Pork ribs with J D sauce for starters were excellent. Staff were great, friendly without being overbearing. Great place to eat.

Came on holiday from England for a few days break to Wales for the first time and stayed in the Hampton hotel. We thought that we would try out the sawyers restaurant and we were amazed at what we served. Was a great amotshpere very good service, was polite and friendly. The food tasted really good and the way it was served up was brilliant, it had a proper American feel to it. Also we received 10% discount because we were staying at Hampton hotel. I would definitely recommend this as a great place to eat. And will definitely go again if I come back to Wales.

Went there yesterday got seated straight away. Had our drinks order taken within few mins of arrival. Food didn't take too long either. Loved the butterfly prawns as starter. Stuff were friendly and food was good. Not too busy or overcrowded. Would recommend a visit

Visited last night 5 people. Food was really lovely. Especially liked the veggie hotdog and presentation of food. Only slight complaint was a very long wait to get desserts ordered. The waitress was great. Young girl with long blonde hair but she was so busy running around and i think didn't have chance to come back to us. Felt sorry for her. Prices on a par with other well known American restaurants. Overall though really enjoyable and will return.

Food is great, restaurant is clean and tidy and staff were lovely, however... we specifically chose this place so after the food we could have one of them milkshakes that are advertised on the Facebook page & in the Voice magazine BUT apparently because the management wasn't there they couldn't make these for us as the manager has never taught her staff how to make them. This is very disappointing because it was advertised in numerous places. You really shouldn't advertise them if you can't produce them on a regular/consistent basis. Like I said food was great and also great vegetarian options but I am disappointed.

First time visiting after about a year... quite disappointed with the new menu, I used to LOVE the bourbon burger and that's gone from the menu. Also what's happened to the corn on the cob? :( miss the old menu!

My family and I had a good meal here on 24 April. We were a bit disappointed as there were quite a few things unavailable from the menu, so had to change our meal selection several times but when we got the food it was lovely. The service was excellent, the one waiter out front was manic and we certainly couldn't understand why there was 2 chef's and 1 waiter?!?! But he worked his socks off rushing round all the tables and even had service with a smile, he alone would have 5 stars. We were waiting a while for drinks etc but we all just felt sorry for him because he was on his own.
