About Shareshop Mold
Established in North Wales in Sept 2015, SHARE is a new charity that exists to provide relief for refugees and homeless wherever they are.
Shareshop Mold Description
SHAREโS aims are simple - we support families in crisis and people who are homeless in North Wales and Cheshire and we assist refugees fleeing for their lives, wherever they are in the world.
In September 2015, the harrowing photograph of the tiny body of three-year-old Alyun Kurdi, washed up on a beach in the Mediterranean, spurred four local mums from the Mold area to โdo somethingโ to make a difference to people fleeing for their lives from war torn Syria and Iraq. They joined forces with a Chester based businessman and it was then that SHARE was born. Within weeks they were joined by like-minded businesses, schools, churches and other organisations and inundated with donations that were promptly sorted and sent where needed. In January 2016 the SHARE Shop in Chester was opened.
In Mold, SHARE volunteers receive, sort, pack and distribute all donations of clothing, footwear and other essential equipment, currently required by the refugee camps in Europe and further afield. We coordinate our efforts with other refugee support organisations in the UK and abroad, to ensure that the right items are provided at the right time and to the right place. We also work with local agencies in North Wales, supporting families in crisis, by supplying them with basic household essentials, donated furniture, clothing, toys and baby /childrenโs items.
In Chester, SHARE volunteers help to raise valuable funds for the charity in the SHARE Shop, by selling donations received that are not suitable for refugees or local homeless people. These items are still valuable to us, as all funds raised are then split equally between our refugee and homeless projects. Twice a week, our SHARE Van provides a valuable outreach services to those living rough on the streets of Chester. Loaded up with hot drinks, food, sleeping bags and warm clothing, our aim is to give some comfort to those who simply have no place of their own to call home.

One of our Trustees Becky is preparing herself for the night ahead... "Spending it in the school hall, sleeping on cardboard, with 20 teenagers. All night. What was I thinking?! All for the best cause though in aid of SHARE. A big thank-you to Helsby Tesco for donating all their left over sweet treats from the Bakery to treat our fundraising students ๐
This small change could be a lifeline to hundreds of incredibly vulnerable children.

Another part of our work at Mold which we do not usually post about, due to confidentiality, is helping local families in need. Just today we have been able to help 3 separate families with a total of 11 children between them, who were struggling to provide Xmas presents for them. ๐

Last but not least of Thanks today go to Gary Murphy & Nicola Ingman who had a collection from their collegues at Connollys, for refugees and homeless, and passed them on to Karen one of our volunteers who works with them for FCC. ๐

Our last shift of the year was super mega busy. We had another fantastic delivery from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. This time from their youth group from around North Wales and part of Cheshire and the Wirral. Lots of warm winter clothes and more hygiene packs. All for their Light the World Service project. Many Thanks to you all.๐ Also Thanks to our regular visitors from Buckley Cross Methodist Church. ๐ And to Eric, Sue, J.Biggs, Huw, Anne & Dorothea Bayliss. ๐ Also Thanks to Lorraine Lowry for lots of ready prepared special baby milk. ๐
