Sharlowes Ferretry - Breeders Of Standard Ferrets Description
SharLowes Ferretrys aim is to produce standard ferrets with excellent bloodlines in their lineage. All of our breeding ferrets and kits are registered on feritage.
All of our ferrets are pets first, their wellbeing is the most important to us. We believe our pets are for life so when a ferret is retired from breeding, they are neutered and live in our main group all year round.
Some of the kits we breed, we keep to improve our breeding lines, others join our castrated /spayed group.
Kits are given the best start in life, they are fed on a raw diet, then at 6 weeks they are introduced to kibble too. They have plenty of handling and lots of cuddles, which helps them grow into happy healthy babies : )
A little intro on ourselfs : )
I was first introduced to ferrets when I was around 11 years old when my dad brought a couple home, from then I absolutely loved them. My husband also found his fondness of ferrets as a child. When we moved in together back in 2008 we came across 2 ferrets in a local market and purchased them, they became our first pets together. Over the years our numbers have slowly been increasing.
Back in 2011 we started to go to ferret shows and very quickly got the show bug. We are very proud of our ferrets for winning many rosettes & trophies over the years.
In 2013 I took over the running of The Welsh Ferret Club and organise shows with the support of my helpers.
We started breeding in 2015, our aim is to produce standard ferrets with healthy bloodlines in their lineage so we and owners can follow their heritage back many years.
We are based in Cardiff, South Wales, UK

Day 1
The first few days of a kits life is very crucial, so we are keeping our fingers and toes very tightly crossed π€π»
Exciting news!
Maggie gave birth early hours this morning to 5 kits π₯°. Not as many as we were expecting, but given the current situation, itβs a more manageable number if we do have to keep kits for longer.
She has been settling into motherhood very well and is super relaxed with the kits π₯°
Exciting news! the camera arrived today, which is just in time to install it! After spending this afternoon playing around, I think Iβve worked it out! π
I am already super impressed with the camera, itβs currently in night vision, which will likely be the case throughout the next few weeks. I can live stream to see what sheβs doing and record what ever I like! Iβm not tech savvy so this has blown my mind ππ€£π
.
All we have to do now is sit back and wait for kits to arrive π₯°
Maggie has been settled in her nursing cage for the past few days. As Maggie isnβt destructive at all we have made some alterations from our usual set up. We have lined the cage with carpet rather then a blanket and put in a deep little box. We are also using a larger nest box in preparation of the camera arriving. Looking at the delivery date for the camera itβs unlikely it will arrive before she gives birth so we may have to delay in installing it too π.
On a more positive note, Maggie is now on day 40, so if she caught on her first date night, she could give birth from tomorrow onwards ππ₯³π₯°
