We are a family-owned business started in Aberdare by Alan Sheppard over 40 years ago. The company has now expanded to 33 branches and serves a large community in the South Wales Valleys area, with branches also in Bridgend, Pencoed and Goodwick.
Our aim is to achieve the highest level of primary healthcare provision to the local community. We will endeavour to provide a full range of quality goods and services that are value for money and readily accessible to all in need of them.

SHEPPARDS PHARMACY NELSON
Following a severe fire in the flat above the pharmacy on Christmas Eve, our Nelson pharmacy remains open but with some disruption to normal services.
There should be minimal disruption to obtaining prescriptions, however we have fewer pharmacy medicines available this morning.
... We have ordered additional pharmacy medicine stock for this afternoon with further supplies arriving tomorrow morning.
A special mention to Mark Rees and the maintenance team and to pharmacist Nigel for giving up a lot of their Christmas Day to help ensure the pharmacy would be able to open today.
Please bear with us over the next few weeks as we work hard to get the pharmacy back to its excellent standard.

The Flu Vaccine is the best protection against getting flu and is free for people with a number of health conditions.
The flu jab is available from a number of Sheppards pharmacies and from your GP surgery.
Many congratulations to our pre-registration pharmacist student James on passing his pharmacy registration exam!
James has been with us for several years as a summer student and has now qualified as a pharmacist after a year as an integral member of the team in Rhydyfelin.
James will be staying with us as a pharmacist in Bridgend to start what we’re sure will be a very successful and enjoyable career. Well done James!

Are you a carer for a family member? Does someone in your household have a suppressed immune system or takes medication that reduces the its effectiveness?
If yes, you are entitled to a free NHS vaccination, which can be obtained from a number of Sheppards Pharmacies.
... If you are a carer for someone, having the flu jab can stop you getting flu, reducing the risk that you pass it on to your vulnerable relative. It will also help prevent you from being too ill to take care of them, which could put their well-being at risk.
If someone in your household has reduced immunity, being vaccinated to prevent you getting flu reduces their risk too.
