About Sight Cymru

Sight Cymru is an independent Welsh charity that strives to promote the welfare of people with sight loss in Wales.

Sight Cymru Description

Sight Cymru was originally established in 1865 in Newport, South Wales, and our registered Head Office is in Pontypool.

We pride ourselves on being the only entirely Welsh sight loss agency that provides services throughout Wales.

Our VISION

We want all people with sight loss in Wales to be able to live independently and actively, in an inclusive and accessible society, and enjoy their lives to the full.

Our aims and objectives are to:

• Promote good eye health and help prevent avoidable sight loss
• Enable those with sight loss to live independently
• Provide information & support to those with sight loss, their carers, and dependents
• Encourage people with sight loss to have a voice, and campaign on their behalf
• Raise public and commercial awareness of sight loss
• Develop the eye-care sector in Wales

REMINDER! This Wednesday we are holding an engagement event for those who suffer from sight loss.
Communities are the future of Public Health in Gwent and we aim to identify the barriers and challenges to improving and protect your health. The findings from the workshop will be collated with the findings from other workshops which will then be fed back at the Gwent Conference for Health and Well-being in November for health, council and third sector leaders.
MAKE A DIFFEREN...CE AND COME AND SHARE YOUR OPINION AND CONCERNS!

We would like to say a massive thank you to everybody that attended our sponsored Blindfold Bowling last night, we are extremely pleased to have raised over £1,000!
Your support is very much appreciated and valued, without important fundraising like this we wouldn’t be able to provide the services we do.
A special thank you to Michael Rappell who raised £277 in sponsorship, Cwmbran Vale Rotary Club who presented us with a £250 cheque, Chepstow ... and District Round Table for their cheque for £200, Wymans Optician for a £120 cheque and Lisa Gomer for organising.

The 1st picture has a large red bricked building in the background with parking at the front for 168 cars. The 2nd picture is the shop front with white frames surrounding the door and window.
