We have travelled all over the place for Karate and Kickboxing completions and it was nice to go in to a hall that wasn't like an ice box and had staff coming in regularly to clean. Only downside was the gents changing room sensors on sinks and driers are rubbish!

Cracking new centre though with friendly staff

User

The staff are the reason I give this 5 stars. They go above and beyond to help you. I'm part of the furniture at the centre now and I call many of the staff friends. Thanks gang.

Myself and my family all attended the family fun day. We were all massively impressed with how well organised the day was and the range and amount of activities on offer for the kids to get involved with. I think between my two children they tried everything judo, gymnastics, free running, trampolining, bubble football, badminton, dance fit to name just a few. Both of them as a result of the day have decided to take up new sports..... well done all involved!

User

My kids do diving, swimming lessons, dance, spin class and love every second of it with great staff all round. X

My daughter had a fantastic pool party here yesterday. The small pool was exclusive to us & was full of floats which children (aged 5) loved. We then had tea party & party games in a lovely room upstairs. Staff were outstanding & made the afternoon stress free for me as a mum! Highly recommend a party here... Plus price was very reasonable. Thank you to all who worked yesterday.

Most of the swimming Instructors are outstanding!

The way they cater for each individuals needs is excellent.

Very impressed with the way that many of the instructors converse in Welsh with the Welsh Second Language Schools, even though they, as learners, are learning themselves.

This is a strength of the establishment. The pupils respond appropriately and find the whole experience pleasurable and fulfilling.

A special mention to ''Mel' in the learners pool. A great character and we all know someone from every generation that he has taught to swim

I've been a member for around 18 months now. In that time I've definitely seen a huge improvement in my fitness and that's mainly down to the challenging but enjoyable Insanity/Body Blast classes and a great programme supplied by Carwyn. This would also not have been possible if it wasn't for the guidance and knowledge each of the staff members have. They're very approachable and always happy to help

User

I go to a few of the classes here.. Mainly spin fit... An excellent full body workout as you go on the weight machines and do lots of cardio floor workouts as well as spin!! Definitely worth a try!! Gemma is an excellent instructor and very knowledgable.

User

Friendly helpful reception staff , lovely warm pool for the baby and me 😂 , clean changing rooms and toilets , only wish there was somewhere more secure to keep Prams

User

Excellent random class in the gym this morning, definitely need more of these to mix things up a bit...one of the best work outs I've had

User

Always a pleasure to train at this sports centre, the staff that works there are so polite and if u ever need a helping hand they always there to help u 👍 100% recommend this gym

User

A visit to the gym and pool is highly recommended. Friendly helpful staff are always on hand to assist you, plus state of the art equipment all adds to a great experience

User

Quick question! Popped into the gym tonight to have a hour workout to be told I had to leave? On your page it says you close at 21:30 and I got told to finish my workout at 21:00. Not just me but a few people said the same as they thought it was 21:30 as well cause that what it says on your facebook page. Basically I don't pay monthly memberships for 20 minute workouts so please sort your social media out.

User

I use the centre regularly- usually for swimming although the slow lane is becoming rather full for us more leisurely swimmers - Trying some other classes this week to find an alternative

The staff on reception are not able to answer ANY question that I ask them. Their knowledge about the classes/services that you offer is very minimal and I always get fobbed off. I put my son's name down for him to attend diving camp tomorrow and I haven't received confirmation that he is able to attend so I asked the girl on reception and she didn't know anything about it and advised me to speak with Ben. Speak with Ben, I ask myself!! How? Through the glass or should I push my my baby's pram through the pool area or should I just leave him in the changing room by himself?? This is not the first time and I am still waiting for a manager to get back to me about a query I raised by email several months ago. Your staff need to at least be able to answer basic questions. Customer Services is appalling!!!

User

I participated in the zumba class tonight and whilst I appreciate there will be teething problems in a new building eg air conditioning not working, I have to complain about the size of the room.

We were squeezed into the dance studio upstairs which quite frankly is not an ample size room for such a popular class! Surely having seen the popularity of this class in the former sports centre an adequate sized room would be provided in the new sports centre? I fear this class will lose a lot of interest due to the size of the room.

User

Took my 7 month old daughter and 3 year old niece swimming last Wednesday (we usually go to Merthyr, but thought we'd give Aberdare a go being closer, BIG mistake) after paying nearly £7 double the cost of Merthyr we entered the family changing room. At 10:30 in the morning it was filthy, stunk of urine and looked like it hadn't been cleaned for days. We then entered the pool area, there were swimming lessons in the small pool which no one had informed us of when taking our money, so I had to take my baby daughter in the big pool which was far too cold for her, after 10 minutes we decided to leave, upon which (and the only reason for 2 stars instead of 1) the instructor said I could take her by the steps of the small pool. Upon leaving we spoke to the deputy manager, who was patronising and made it clear he didn't care less. I won't be returning and will be back to the clean and friendly environment in Merthyr leisure centre.

User

checked on your website to make sure pool is open on sunday... drove all the way from pentre to bring my son for a swim in one of the only pools suitable for babies that is left in RCT - to be told that it was booked out for private party...

what a waste of a day

my son was very upset

User

Public swimming pool? What an absolute joke, one swimming lane the width of two people and the rest of the pool devoted to kids who are there to mess about because it's free. Subsidised by those of us who pay week in week out. I've just paid £3 to spend ten minutes dodging other people. During term time Aberdare Swimming Pool is little more than a school pool we're allowed to pay for the privilege of borrowing. In the school holidays it's a crèche. Ridiculous!

I go to a few of the classes here.. Mainly spin fit... An excellent full body workout as you go on the weight machines and do lots of cardio floor workouts as well as spin!! Definitely worth a try!! Gemma is an excellent instructor and very knowledgable.

I won't be returning and will be back to the clean and friendly environment in Merthyr leisure centre.

checked on your website to make sure pool is open on sunday... drove all the way from pentre to bring my son for a swim in one of the only pools suitable for babies that is left in RCT - to be told that it was booked out for private party...

what a waste of a day

my son was very upset

Public swimming pool? What an absolute joke, one swimming lane the width of two people and the rest of the pool devoted to kids who are there to mess about because it's free. Subsidised by those of us who pay week in week out. I've just paid £3 to spend ten minutes dodging other people. During term time Aberdare Swimming Pool is little more than a school pool we're allowed to pay for the privilege of borrowing. In the school holidays it's a crèche. Ridiculous!
