Sophrology Wales Description

This page is about raising awareness of sophrology because I strongly believe everybody should practice it!

Sophrology is a very effective, safe and natural mind and body training that I tailor to your needs. You then end up with lifelong skills that you can continue to use anytime, anywhere and autonomously. It allows you to enjoy life in a more proactive, self-confident way and with a positive outlook.

The word Sophrology comes from ancient Greek:

SOS = serenity, harmony
PHREN = spirit, consciousness
LOGOS = science, study

Sophrology can be described as the study of harmony within the consciousness.

Many conditions may be relieved by Sophrology such as:

Anxiety
Stress related symptoms
Sleep disorders
Phobias
It is also helpful to:

Improve concentration
Reinforce self–confidence and motivation
Prepare for future events like exams, interviews, childbirth, surgery and sports competition.
Recover after surgery, bereavement
Sophrology can be done in one-to-one sessions (45 to 60 minutes) or group sessions (1 hour). Four to five sessions are needed to master the basic techniques. Clients are asked to practice the techniques every day for 10 to 20 minutes. The more practice, the more efficient the techniques become. The ultimate aim is to develop the skills so that you can use the techniques on your own whenever needed in your daily life.
