Detectives investigating an assault in Swansea city centre, which has left one man in a critical condition in hospital, are continuing to appeal for witnesses to come forward.
Officers were alerted to a disturbance near Primark on St Mary’s Square at approximately 11.25pm on Saturday, June 15. Three men were assaulted, and one was critically injured. He remains in a critical condition at the University Hospital of Wales.
... Two men, aged 21 and 33, were arrested in connection with the incident and have since been released on bail.
Senior Investigating Officer, DCI Helen Woodward, said: “This was a serious assault which has left one man critically ill in hospital.
“I have a team of officers dedicated to this investigation and a number of enquiries have taken place during this last week. “However, we are still appealing for any other witnesses to come forward. In particular, we are keen to trace three people who were in the vicinity at the time of the incident and who may have witnessed it.
“The first man was wearing a black leather jacket, the second a white gillet, and the third is a taxi driver who was in his vehicle at the scene.
“I’d urge people to cast their minds back to last Saturday – if they have information, however insignificant it may seem, I’d urge them to come forward.”

We are reminding people to remove valuables from their vehicles and to ensure they are secure. Over the last couple of weeks we have had a number of cars broken into in the rural car parks in the Gower area where items such as handbags and jackets have been left on display in vehicles. PCSO Andrew Brown said: “Unfortunately we know thieves target those who are out and about enjoying the Gower area and we are continuing to increase patrols in the rural car parks as part of operation Gower Safe. “We also please ask that you help us by not making your vehicle a temptation for thieves by bringing items you are not taking walking with you or to the beach and leaving them on display.”
