Sparks In The Park Cardiff

About Sparks In The Park Cardiff

This is Wales' biggest and best annual fireworks event, held behind Cardiff Castle organised by Cardiff Round Table.

Sparks In The Park Cardiff Description

Cardiff's Cooper's Field will be host to the annual Sparks in the Park firework display, the largest regular annual fireworks event in Wales and one of the largest in the UK.

There will be an amazing display of pyrotechnics, a beast of a bonfire as well as funfair rides, live entertainment from Capital FM, food stalls and many other family attractions.
Event timings:
Gates open 4: 30 pm
Childrens Fireworks Display 5. 45pm
Bonfire 6: 15pm
Fireworks set off at 7: 00pm (display lasts approx 30 minutes).
The event is organised by Cardiff Round Table, who have been running this annual spectacular since 1981. Cardiff Round Table work in partnership with Cardiff Council to ensure that this is a both a fun and safe event. We than go on to donate the proceeds to worthy causes, mostly local but also national and international. Hundreds of thousands of pounds have been raised in this event's history.
Attractions include a fairground, beer tent, jumbo screen and food stalls. All we recommend is that you wrap up warm!

First time I've been and would definitely go again. Yes the food was expensive (didn't buy any) but it always is at these sort of events, yes it was half an hour late but under the circumstances I think it was really good. Got there early and went straight in, no bother. It's November and expected it to be cold so wrapped up well and I saw plenty if little ones running around having fun. Well done to the organisers and volunteers as I understand there were imposed last minute changes. Looking forward to next year.

Fireworks were amazing as usual - never fails to impress. Five kids in total awe. Little bit disappointed about the bonfire not being lit, but rather that than being covered in ash and smoke. Music videos kept us entertained. The announcements over the tannoy kept people informed what was going on. Definitely coming back next year.

User

Not too good keeping us waiting for 30mins... 2 cold and tired children.. And very inappropriate music videos...playing.... Need to rethink those.. However the fireworks when they came were brilliant and the marshals very good..

User

My three children and I enjoyed the evening, thank you.

A great experience for the children.

Bit of a let down this year..

main display started late.

What happened to the bonfire?

And some idiot needs to take responsibility for the giant tv screen right in the way of viewing the fireworks.

Disappointed

User

Went last year... No bonfire due to "health and safety". Waste of money, won't go again. What right they think they have to confiscate people's possessions is beyond me and amounts to nothing less than theft, and they're allowed to get away with it.

User

Really poor display, wasn’t worth the money. Been to better free ones. Won’t be back or recommending to anyone. Hoping that majority of money made went to charity because hardly any could have been spent on fireworks.

User

I’m quite disappointed this year. The main problem was the giant tv in the way of the display which meant we couldn’t see most of the fireworks! This is frustrating as it wouldn’t be difficult to move it to allow people who paid money to watch the display....

I am also disappointed with the delay of the display which was half hour on a bitterly cold evening! It’s only poor planning with one entrance and over the top searching that caused the bottleneck in the first place!!!

This needs considerable improvement if I am to go again next year!!

User

Fireworks were brilliant. Organisation not. Had to queue for nearly 40 minutes to get into park. Fireworks delayed by nearly 30 mins .loads of people leaving before end due to buses etc

User

Why advertise start time of seven then not start until nearly half past. Not good if you have young children and have been waiting since five! Too many queues for food and drinks and toilets! Not allowed to take in drinks then you have to queue for ages to buy anything! Not impressed!

User

Waste of money got searched at the gate and my water removed from my person so they could rip me off inside. Waited three hours in the freezing cold then the main display that was half hour late and by the time it started the kids completely lost interest as they were frozen stiff. There was people smoking everywhere but yet I’m not allowed to bring my own water what a waste of four hours of my life we won’t be going next year....... not good enough for the cost

User

Waited ages in the cold, kids got bored when there was no sign of the 7pm firework show. Ended up leaving as kids had had enough. Very disappointing. Will try for refund.

User

Too much waiting around! Info says fireworks start at 7pm. It's 7.20pm and still no sign of them! Poorly managed.

User

Too much queuing - to get in & then for any of the food or drink stands. It was half an hour late too!

Poor planning & not worth really worth it.

User

The event was poorly organised. The organisers were unprepared for the number of people attending. There was only one entrance and no more than four stewards scanning tickets, causing massive queues blocking the pavement, leading to pedestrians walking in the road. Once inside, there were long queues for the toilets which were unlit and had run out of toilet paper and soap. The fireworks were half an hour late to allow more people in but no-one was informed when they would start. Overall, it was very disappointing, overpriced and not worth the money.

User

Queues for everything was terrible and prices of everything was sky high. Not allowed to take anything in to the park.

Fireworks were 30 mins late after waiting 2 hours to be told they were waiting for people to get in, and when they did start they were nothing special have seen better free displays.

No bonfire just a sign that said sparks which was awful. Will not be returning again as an expensive disappointment!!

User

Nothing on tickets about taking food or drink in .all confiscated at gate (they put sign just as you go in ,after queing for over 40 mins there was no time to take shopping back to city centre car park then was forced to pay £25 for burgers inside ... there was no way they was going to get 15,000 people through one gate there were elderly people with grandchildren kept in cold for no other reason than bad organisation... many people left before the end as children were cold and irritable... plus people were smoking everywhere which really wasn’t very good for those who don’t... no way I take family again!

User

Left it a little later to arrive as i figured there may be a queue but after arriving at 5.30, i wasnt expecting to still be in a queue to get in until 6. No veggie option for food other than chips and queue for food was on another level. Display late, and exit had us blinded by lughts or in the dark; no inbetween. Shocking.

User

First time going it was crap ...£24 wasted .. will never go again. .... I've seen better displays at home ...........
