YUP! It's that time of the week again where we welcome another amazing raft of New Releases for our ears and general, all round well-being. And what a week!
Feels like we've all been waiting forever for the second IDLES album to land, and here it is! They've been everywhere in the press, detailing about their intentions for Joy As An Act Of Resistance and there's no doubt that it will bring a lot of joy, to many. Music with a message and the message IS Joy. Get your hands...

Here's this weeks top-drawer offering for NEW MUSIC (and some reissues!) to make your life sound better!
We can't get enough of the new INTERPOL album (** with added promo giveaways for those quick off out the blocks - totes / stickers / posters!), MARK LANEGAN & DUKE GARWOOD have created a masterpiece - an album that's compelled repeat playing for us all week here (not to mention how it's caught the ear of many instore asking about it)... TUNNG have made a "very Tunng album...

Thanks to Ethan Johns for yesterday’s brilliant instore gig. On Saturday 25th August we’ll be welcoming Gwenifer Raymond to the shop. Gwenifer will be playing songs from her fantastic debut album You Never Were Much Of A Dancer which is out now.

The Summer months have a tendency to "drop" a little on the new music front, but that's no reason to assume your new favourite album isn't lurking amongst the list, waiting for you to discover it.
Take KATHRYN JOSEPH who releases her follow up to 2015’s acclaimed debut Bones You Have Thrown Me And Blood I’ve Spilled, which was named the Scottish Album of the Year. This is a breath taking listen, that documents both life’s traumas and their resolutions. "Produced by Marcus...

Well Done To All The Staff Coping With The Hundreds Of Customers You Had For #RSD2018

User

Visited from America and had an amazing time talking with staff who generously shared some comps of local artists and spent 30-40 minutes swapping fave artists. One of the best curated and well staffed record stores I've ever been to. Not to miss!

User

Tweeted my local record shop to ask if they had something in stock. 'No, but we can tweet you (no obligation) when it comes in if you like'. Two days later, get a message in the cinema that it's in.

Nip round the corner, pick it up and spend a few minutes chatting to knowledgeable staff. Can't beat it. Thanks, Spillers!

User

The best record shop anywhere. Great selection of music and passionate knowledgeable staff. If they had a microbrewery too, I would think I had died and gone to heaven.

User

Nice staff with a great knowledge of music who are always happy to recommend new stuff. I used to spend my weekends in there from the age of about 16/17 when I was younger and ashli and graf and all the rest have turned me onto a lot of music in the past I wouldn't have discovered otherwise at that age.

User

My 10 year old bought his 1st vinyl record yesterday. Bringing back memories of my first vinyl purchase some years ago. Spiller is the oldest, best and number one record store. Love it... 👌🏻

User

I've been buying from here sporadically for almost forty years.Always a pleasure!

I love Spillers .. I live in London but travel to see my family in Merthyr as often as I can. A visit to Cardiff is always a priority and a call into Spillers is always on the cards.

Great staff, good selection and they REALLY DO know their music. Last visit landed up with 5 T-shirts, 4 vinyls, 1 slip mat and a cleaning cloth. I could have done double that

User

Have shopped at Spillers for years, but they really went the extra mile for me the last couple of weeks. Kept me updated while they waited on delivery of a record I was after and had a friendly chat with the guy behind the counter when I went to pick it up. Five stars, really can't fault them. Cheers!

User

Great shop! A pity it's so far away from Granada Spain otherwise I would be a regular costumer. All the best from Spain

User

Great record shop, staff are very helpful and extremely knowledgeable, I've been buying vinyl and cds from there since the 80's

User

Friendly, helpful staff, and a great selection of vinyl & CDs.

User

Friendly staff great atmosphere and selection of music. Decent prices too

User

Best record shop in the world. Oldest record shop in the world. 122 years of doing everything right.

User

Always a pleasure to visit this wonderful record store in my old home town. In town for the day for the Rugby but still found time to pop in and leave with some bargains. As Peel said of The Fall - "Always different, always the same"....

User

Very helpful and considerate staff, but those queues yesterday WTF ! Visited on RSD17 and walked straight in, what changed in 18 🤔🤔. My patience was rewarded however with the last copies of the two pieces of vinyl I wanted 😝

User

The website didn't work and the staff were rude and unhelpful. I tried for ages to create and account and order a record online, but it just didn't work at all. I phoned the shop to pay with a card, that didn't work either and when I commented that my card had not had a problem before the woman ranted at me for a bit, then the final straw was when she patronised me with 'why don't we both take a deep breath and start again'. This is when I gave up with the transaction and bought it from a shop in Manchester instead, which I had no problems with. It is a real shame as I was trying to support a Welsh independent record shop, and I know that Spillers has a long history and big fan base, but I can only go on my experience of their customer service, which was not good. And I used to enjoy popping in and browsing whenever I was in Cardiff :(

User

Customer service so bad it's borderline scammy, at least from my experience. Still no refund, still no vinyl (over 2 months late).
