We came Wednesday for Dr Hook. Their was 3 of us, one being my Aunty who's 65 with learning difficulties, disabled & in a wheelchair. When I ordered the tickets the wheelchair areas were full but I knew my Aunty could transfer from wheelchair to a seat at the back where there are no steps. It was our first time visiting but wont be our last. We all had a great evening, my Aunty was singing all the songs & staff were helpful, especially Jan ? I think her name was. She helped us to our seats, helped with the wheelchair & in the lift after the show. Also lady that was chatting with my Aunty while we waited for the lift. Looking forward to coming again 😊

User

This review is on behalf of my mum she was at the venue last night in a mobilty scooter and unable to walk at all you where very very accommodating for her and nothing was a problem she would certainly concider other events at the venue for the service she had with her disabilities she was very very happy all round and would recommend to other wheelchair bound people

User

The best concert venue in Cardiff (along with the Tramshed which is totally different). So much better than the Motorpoint. The seating is brilliant, the staff are polite and very helpful. The security is very unobtrusive. I visit many times in the year and it is hard to find fault.

User

Fantastic venue, great view of the stage even from the higher levels. Staff were nice and very helpful. Everywhere was clean and tidy, plenty of seats available in the bar areas and staff gave service with a smile.

User

Fab venue...seen a number of fab shows. Saw Texas last year and last night Heather Small the voice of M people. Very professional venue and the staff are lovely. Well worth a visit.

User

St Davids Hall is a Great Venue.

The view from any seat is good and the sound is good.

But the foam in the seats must be past its best

I was offered a booster as my seat had collapsed, I declined but we were moved to better seats just before the show started.

User

I've always loved st davids hall, the seats are comfy with enough leg room and the acoustics are great. The only downside is that there is only one lift and it takes a very long time to get to the front of the queue for it. I've never noticed before as we have never had to use it until now.

User

Had a great night watching Paul carrack last night .thankyou to the staff and Gareth the manager for looking after us as we didn't realise our tickets had been booked in different rows

User

Brilliant concert hall. Clear signage inside the hall, great view from all the seats. The only thing I would say is that the space between rows is rather tight, and there is a long drop down to the next row if you stumble and trip. Anyone slightly frail or with a stick should stick to aisle seats. People scared of heights should aim for tickets on level 4 or below! Staff were very friendly and helpful.

User

Watched Killer Queen last night. Very disappointed as "Freddie" was not so much singing as shouting/screeching. He kept calling for people to stand up which meant that those who were unable to do so could now see nothing. Finally the bar stayed open which meant the people were constantly back and forth to the bar/loo. Very disappointing night altogether and an act we won't book to see again.

User

St David's is a lovely theatre but recently been very disappointed with them and the Motorpoint arena. In the last few weeks I have visited queens theatre, coliseum, ENO and prince of Wales theatre in the west end. They fall over themselves to be nice to you. And go above to help you. Customer service at SDH was very poor

User

I played in the Cardiff Philharmonic concert yesterday evening and my parents came down from Cheshire for the concert. It's a wonderful hall to play in, but as my parents said, the poor hall is looking tired and uncared for. The single, small lift is also insufficient for transporting large numbers of people who are unable to use the stairs to the upper levels. It's a shame that the hall is lacking investment, since its situation does not help promoters attract an audience.

User

I Sat in tier 5 for last night's wonderful concert. At the end, I tried to leave through one of the exits at the side of the auditorium. I have often used these exits in the past as they mean that you avoid the busy main foyer areas and bring you out quickly to the Hayes. Last night, two members of staff refused my attempt to leave this way. One of them said that it was an emergency exit only, but surely if they are marked as exits then patrons should be permitted to use them as such?

User

This isn't solely a review for the venue but for the worst show I've ever seen 'Islands in the Stream' on Friday Jan 5th. My sister bought us tickets for my last night in uk before returning to Australia, where I live. I have seen so much talent in Wales, over the years, we were both totally shell shocked at the lack of talent, enthusiasm and stage production in this, the worst show on earth as its now known in our family. We spent the second half in your lovely Gin Bar as we couldn't torture ourselves to return for more low class wannabe karaoke toneless 'entertainment'.

User

Steps are dangerous and staff handling of a recent serious tumble I witnessed was absolutely appalling! Security checks were welcome but emergency preparedness is atrocious

User

Saw Ellen Kent's Madama Butterly last night, 18th March. Very poor performance. Set, orchestra, and support cast were good. Unfortunately, the lead soprano was not. Unable to hear for a large part of the performance. It was telling when one of the most famous and moving arias, One Fine Day, was met with total silence. Not one person in the audience applauded. That is unheard of.

I have seen previous performances from Ellen Kent, most recently La Traviata, and were all of a high standard.

User

My girlfriend & I went to see The Wizard Of Oz with Live Orchestra yesterday. It was a new cinematic experience for us & we were really looking forward to it. I booked great, central seats in the stalls & we had an excellent view of the stage & screen. So, all was good. That was until a mother sat next to me with her 2 very small children, neither of which looked older than 5 years old. Here's an exercise for you. Read the following, out loud in a high pitched child's voice: Mummy, who's that?....Mummy, where's Toto?.... Mummy, what did he say?..... Mummy, where are they?..... Mummy, is that a witch?..... Mummy, is she a good witch?.... Mummy, what did she say?....Mummy, where are they going?....Mummy, are they asleep?.... & on & on & on. Now, imagine that for 1 hour & 50 minutes whilst also having to put up with the children squirming around in their seats & wanting to sit in their Mum's lap. That is what we had to endure. I somehow managed to keep quiet as I didn't want to make a scene & spoil the show for others. But it's now 24 hours later & I am still really angry about this & I blame you for allowing such young children to this event which quite clearly wasn't meant for them. And please don't give the excuse that the film has a U certificate, because in this instance that won't wash. Our tickets cost £43 plus it cost £16 to get to Cardiff. So that was £59 completely wasted as we did not enjoy ourselves at all. You should have had an age restriction for this event, it's as simple as that. Will think twice before using your venue again.
