St Issells Church, Saundersfoot Description
Keep upto date with events and services at St Issells. There has been a Church on site for over 1500 years. St Issells is a beautiful and well loved grade II listed building with Celtic origins. The building is of considerable historic and architectural interest for example:
The late Norman Tower c1500 in Carmarthenshire style with it's splayed base
The excellent east window of The Lady Chapel by Kemp Tower depicting the Annunciation of Our Lady.
The font with its carved bowl is amongst the finest Norman examples in the diocese, decorated with scroll patterns of unusual character.
The superb Preaching Cross in the Church grounds is in itself a grade II listed building.
