About St Julian'S Church

St Julian's Church, Tenby Harbour

St Julian'S Church Description

Nestling in Tenby Harbour, St Julian's Church was built in 1878 to serve the seafaring community of Tenby. The Church was built using stone brought over from Caldey Island, just off the coast of Tenby, with Bath Stone used for the window and door surrounds.
The Church has four lovely stained glass windows, depicting Biblical scenes, and on the east wall, above the Altar is a painting of the Good Shepherd by an unknown artist.
The east wall is covered in bobbin trawl interwoven with replica lobsters, crabs and starfish. This was put in place during the 1960s to represent the harvest of the sea at a Harvest Festival, and it has remained there ever since - to the fascination of many young visitors.
