About St Kentigern Hospice
St Kentigern Hospice offers a quality palliative care service in the catchment area of NE Wales
St Kentigern Hospice Description
St Kentigern Hospice provides palliative care to people from the Vale of Clwyd and surrounding areas, with life limiting illnesses.
The team focus on the patient's quality of life which includes controlling symptoms through a holistic approach taking into account the physical, social, emotional and spiritual needs. Care is also available to families and carers through advice and bereavement support.
There is no charge for these services for the patients and their families but it is not without cost.
To run St Kentigern hospice costs £1. 6m per year - about £4, 300 per day and we receive less than 18% from statutory sources so anything you can do to help with fundraising will be greatly appreciated.
We are currently in the planning phase of a £2 million expansion to the hospice.

We are so grateful to our staunch supporters Thorncliffe Building Supplies Ltd who held an Am-Am Golf Competition at St Melyd Golf Club in June and raised a massive £1,000 for our hospice. It was a treat to meet with Lady Captain and Debbie and Callum Harper to collect the cheque today. Thank you so much to all who took part.

Every single person who dedicates their love, time and professional specialism in St Kents is an angel. A peaceful haven where my mum has spent the final weeks of her life following a recent terminal diagnosis. My mum loved it here and she loved everyone who works here. Thank you. Thank from my late mum Marian and a huge huge thank you from me. I will never forget you all xxx

My friend and I have just spent the final days of a friends life at St Kentigerns. It will stay with me as one of the most life affirming events of my life. That may seem an odd thing to say, but our friends death was a peaceful, dignified and moving experience, with no fear and no pain. The staff are kind, caring, dedicated and deserve our respect and recognition. To be present at such a sad time was a privilege I will never forget. We were always made to feel welcome and included in the process, and I cannot praise them enough. Thank God this place exists.
My father, a humble, kind and lovely man, spent the final six weeks of his life at St. Kentigern Hospice, St. Asaph. The care he received was 1st class and far exceeded that which my mother received in a hospital during her final days. The staff were excellent and very caring with both patient and family. As my father's condition deteriorated they did all they could to alleviate any pain and to make him as comfortable as possible. Even at the end, his passing was peaceful.
From the bottom of my heart, I can't thank enough the staff and volunteers of St. Kentigern for all that they did for my father during his final days. I know that he also appreciated their efforts very much.
I will miss him deeply!
My family and I will always be thankful for the gentle and understanding support you provided while my Dad was in your care
