Not as old as it looks, St Mary's was built in 1884. There has, however, been a church on or near the site since the 14th century.

St Mary's is a glorious building with a wonderful balance of scale and intimacy. While its primary function is and always will be the worship of God, it is a brilliant concert venue with a fine organ.
St Mary's is a particularly popular venue for weddings and baptisms!

St Mary's is part of the Diocese of Llandaff and is at the centre of the Rectorial Benefice of Whitchurch - a sisterhood of local churches which includes All Saints Rhiwbina, St Thomas's Birchgrove, and All Saints Llandaff North

Rector: Canon Chancellor John Rowlands, Esq. , MA, MLitt.
Director of Music: Mr. Tom Perkins

St. Mary's is associated with Welsh Pops Cymru: a classical and popular music production company which is proud to call St Mary's its home.
Welsh Pops Cymru puts on regular concert events in St. Mary's, which are organised through a working partnership between it and the St. Mary's Music Department (and between the directors of the two establishments, Lucy J. Morgan and Peter L. Wagstaff)
