The first time I travelled on a ferry was back in 83 sealink ferry.. wasn't a pleasant experience for me as I felt ill the smell of cigarettes beer etc.. My partner booked a holiday in southern Ireland my 1st visit to this beautiful place...arrived at the ferry port in fishgaurd.. must say no toilets facilities untill you got through the to terminal..boarded the ferry and I thought WOW! I still haven't got my sea legs still felt queazy going but on return I took travel sickness tablets which helped and made my crossing more pleasant...

User

Keys locked in the car at the start of the crossing from Ireland yesterday (a little embarrassing )

The guys on the ferry were amazing, unloaded round us while waiting for the AA and couldn't have been more helpful and good humoured

Thanks

I / we have been traveling with Stena for over 35 years mostly on the Irish Sea , we find their courtesy and staff are always superb, not overly impressed with the cost of meals, a bit pricy but one cannot have everything.

User

Great service and a really good meal aswell...

User

Friendly good service.

User

We have spent many years travelling with Stena. Staff helpful and friendly. We travel in the plus lounge for the last few years and find it fine. Not to happy about timetable change but will get used to it. The ship is big and has lots going on.

User

I have travelled on Stena quite a few times over the years from Holyhead and Fishguard ! We came over Monday 15th paid for upgrade to Stena plus and found it quiet and comfy staff very friendly and yes as some reviews state needs refurbishing but it's not that bad plenty of room and your only on it for 3.30mins it soon passes. We are quite happy to travel from Fishguard in the future friendly efficient staff

User

I had a standard cabin on the mid night run... yes cabin was outdated but, It's only a 3.5 hour crossing (ish), I slept on a nice bed most of the time so I don't see why people are comparing it to prison cells etc. A good trip in my opinion.

User

Excellent service shower was better than the hotel I stayed in the night before meal was of good standard too

User

Efficient, slick, helpful crew! As travelling commercially boarded and departed 23:45 on the dot, boarding card includes a meal in the truckers lounge, which was of a good standard,as well as a cabin. Basics done well, clean bed, clean en suite toilet and shower all working as they should.

For a 3.5hr crossing it was much better than a lot of flights I've taken.

User

Service from the staff was excellent. Need to think about refitting or maybe updating the ship itself though. There was a very bad smell in the toilets and most of the windows in the ship looked like that needed to me changed. When there is little choice when one wants to take a ferry the company doesn't need to worry too much about upgrading

User

It's fine but Europe is an old ferry and needs replacing. The ferries from holyhead to Dublin are far nicer. The cabin was very tatty but still cost us over £50. Apparently Irish ferries from Pembroke are a lot better too.

User

I've travelled on Stena line for years on the different routes. But mainly Stranraer and Cairnryan. You can't beat the ferries at Cairnryan so modern and like a second home to me. I travel the length of Britain to go on them. But I've tried others and the latest was Fishguard. Whether it's only run twice a day or mostly for freight it's the worst I've been on. The seats aren't comfortable and there's no where near the seating to charge your phone. So I paid £18 to go into the lounge. I wish I'd saved my money. Again the seats weren't comfortable but you did get the sockets. And it was freezing. Don't they believe in heat?. I'll be travelling back from Belfast to Cairnryan as I couldn't take that ferry again. And the cost now is too expensive. Even with so called offers. Update your Fishguard ferry.

User

We decided to try this route instead of our usual Irish Ferries crossing and as it was the midnight sailing to Rosslare we went for a "delux" double cabin (#7137) at 60 Stirling. Shocking!!! The cabin was a good size but to say the decor dated would be an understatement, it looked as if the cabin had not been touched since the early 1970's with grubby tired dingy crumbling fittings, loose ceiling tiles and wallpaper peeled of the walls by previous occupants.... Admittedly the 2 beds, duvets sheets etc were crisp and clean, but there is no excuse providing such rubbish standard of fit out, deluxe cabin.? More like a prison cell (with a clean bed) no internet signal in the cabin areas either! Shameful even if the Ferry is old, charging 60 pounds for a deluxe cabin of such a low standard for a single 4 hour crossing is profiteering in the extreme. Sorry Stena We will go back with Irish ferries for our future crossings Shame on you Stena Line I should have taken some pictures to shame you further

User

The ferry was late ... Resulting in us missing our coach.. We had to wait 2hours for the next bus to waterford and wait another hour for our waterford bus all because your ship sailed late very disappointed.. Also the food was awful, both my brother's were sick after eating the food from restaurant.

User

Quite disappointed to be honest. We paid for the Stenna Plus lounge and it was very disappointing. Very poor selection of complimentary snacks and no sea view seats.

We traveled with Irish Ferries last year and it was much better.

User

What a bunch of fannies, I do this trip every break last rule I heard you can take a fuel can on as long as it is made of steel. Now this has changed they took my 5 litre jerry can. Last time I have 2 x 10 litre rhino cans 2 x 5 litre jerry can no problem. Did ask what the difference was between jerry can and fuel tank on a bike or a car.

I only doing my job I then asked can you show me some thing in writing that says your not allowed to bring fuel cans. Fell on deaf ears I will be picking up when I come back through Fishguard. Cocks

User

So dissappointed! :( Been this route many times over the last 30 years, loved them all. However, yesterday was the worst crossing ever. :( I know tech difficulties with cargo bay doors made us delayed but added to the change in sailing times meant we only had 11 minutes in Ireland before we had to get back on board so we were forced to have a meal in the restaurant, and it was just plain nasty. I really hope thinsgs improve or I will not be using Stena again

User

Have not done the journey for a very long time, have got to say an absolute disgrace, an excuse/ill equipped bar/barista, restaurant not even open, shop which stocked the bare minimum, would not even contemplate booking/travelling again! I have actually booked a flight back and will not make the return journey.
