Sup Barmouth Description
You don't need to be fit to SUP and you don't need to be able to swim as you will wear a bouyancy aid - if you can walk to the shops then we can teach you to stand up paddleboard!
You don't have to be tough to go out when the sun isn't shining as the wetsuits we use are £120 + good quality 5mm thick winter wetsuits that are designed to keep you warm when actually IN the water for 2 hours in the middle of winter so they WILL keep you warm even if you fall in!
There is something special about skimming along on the water being pushed along by the tide, taking in the amazing scenery that this part of Snowdonia has to offer.
Because of its position at the mouth of the beautiful Mawddach estuary with it's two pretty harbours and long, safe sandy beach, Barmouth is a fantastic location to SUP for those looking for an introduction to the sport as well as those who are looking to take part in a guided SUP tour or SUP adventure.
We are affiliated with Merioneth Yacht Club in Barmouth Harbour so we have the use of the club's changing rooms, showers and toilets for our guests as well as the club bar over-looking the harbour where anyone not taking part can sit and enjoy a cup of tea and watch all the action.
We have a variety of stand up paddleboarding experiences available from tasters to long gentle cruises along the Mawddach. For those who wish to discover the thrill of SUP then Barmouth is a great place to learn!
We provide warm winter wetsuits and boots and we cater for all ages and abilities - no previous experience is necessary!
All you need to bring is a swimsuit or trunks to wear under your wetsuit, an old pair of trainers that you don't mind getting wet and a towel.

Stunning afternoon on the water while England were busy winning! Tomorrow we will be doing half hour have a go sessions for £10 as part of Barmouth's first food festival. Just turn up from 12:30 till 3 if you fancy a go, wetsuits and buoyancy aids provided. And of course the sun is set to shine all day!🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞🌞
Barmouth's first food festival will be on tomorrow! We will be running have a go SUP sessions from the slip for anyone that would like to try it. £10 for half an hour, wetsuits and buoyancy aids provided although if the weather stays like this we won't be needing the wetsuits! This was a birthday treat bought by my friends. We had a fantastic morning with Russ who was charming, patient and knowledgeable. We went up the estuary and back, the weather was lovely. Each time I fell (4times) Russ was right there to help me back up. I would recommend this to anyone.
Thanks you Matt & Russian, we had a great time, both daughters enjoyed themselves more than they thought they would and are up for going again sometime...how Keira and I managed to stay upright on the same board I'll never know bit was good fun trying 😂😆😊
Thank you so much Kirsty. My first SUP lesson today and I loved it! Cool as a cucumber explaining the technique you got me straight up on to the board within minutes of being in the sea.
Massive bonus was the amazing scenery and jumping in the sea further in which I would never normally do in this country. Thank you for the confidence and the experience xx
Myself and my friends have never done paddle boarding before and both instructors were fantastic. Passionate about what they do great experience of the area and have fun teaching us . I've not laughed so much and enjoyed myself so much . We will be back to do the estuary next and cannot wait . Thanks again guys awesome

Kirsty was brilliant! There were 4 in our group, my partner and I and another couple. We had done some paddling before and Kirsty did a brilliant job at catering for all abilities. She gave us little challenges to practice different turns and as the group were pretty good she took us under the Barmouth bridge which she said she doesn't normally do on an hour session. She even gave us a little more time after the session to try 2 of us on a board! We absolutely loved it! Definitely something we'll do again next time we're in Barmouth!! �
Instructors were outstanding. I was the reluctant parent participating with my 10 and 13 year old. Has already set my expectations low and didn’t believe that I would be able to stand up; by the end of the session I was standing!
Kids and I enjoyed it so much, that we will continue doing this when we get back to Florida.
If we have time, we may try and get in another session before we go. 😉
I came to fairbourne on holiday and low and behold i forgot my Sup pump. I got in contact with kirsty from sup barmouth and she sourced a pump and got it sent over to me via emilys ferry the following morning. Great service. Im very pleased i just hope the weather improves now.
Had the best time yesterday evening! First time on a sup board and was nervous to start but we had a great teacher which massively help our confidence and helped us relax and enjoy the scenery around. Will definitely be going again. FYI falling in at least once is a must! :)
Had my very first paddle boarding lesson today, and with positive encouragement and guidance from Kirsty I was standing up paddle boarding in no time � absolutely lovely girl, very friendly and funny. Had an amazing time! Truly think I’ve found a new hobby! Thank you so much �

Had an absolutely sensational time out on the estuary with SUP Barmouth for a sunset paddle. As relative novices we learned a lot in a short amount of time (technique, turns, safety etc) and will definitely be getting on a board again this summer. Kirsty and Matt were very knowledgeable, full of enthusiasm and great fun to be around. Cheers guys!
Had a lesson this morning with Russ and Matt , what a great way to spend an hour , really chilled and made to feel very welcome. Simple instructions very easy to follow and special attention given to a younger less confident member of our group. Brilliant team , well done all ,what a great experience for me and my dog Bertie �

Thanks for a fun filled hour! The equipment and tuition were both first class! I'm sure that you could have charged the spectators for entertainment value especially when we tried "2 up" on the paddle board! Thoroughly recommended to anyone who fancies giving it a go!
Had a brilliant time with my daughter Martha and would definitely recommend it. Kirsty and Russ were both really helpful and looked after everyone in the group.
Friendly staff great with all ages, from oversized inflexible me (in the water twice) to the quick learning youngies. We only did a taster session but the bug has bitten.
Friendly and fun tuition - my daughter and her two friends had such a fantastic time! Highly recommend �
Fantastic would definitely do it again and recommend anyone to try it kids or adults. Brilliant tutors excellent equipment and very safety conscious.
