Great location even better staff

Convenient location, good value for money. Breakfast was a decent portion of food with a few options available. Would have liked a stronger shower and more reliable WiFi in rooms.

Room was nice but being up on top floor the ceiling sloped due to roof so was a bit short in places. No shower just an over the bath head for washing hair. Breakfast was nice and included within the price. The hotel is just across the road from the swallow falls which could hear in room. (note it costs £1.50 to see the falls)

Went for a meal guy behind the bar was friendly and made us laugh. Food was lovely and plenty of it for the adults. Kids meal could do with veg or side option but enjoyed all round 2nd time back and we'll go back again

We were here for a family Easter weekend. Positives: The staff are friendly and the room is very clean and tidy. It is within the Snowdonia and right next to Swallow Falls. In fact, we could see the entrance to the falls from our bedroom window. The room was bright and warm. Negatives: the whole place is run down. We paid over £100/night which I think is overly expensive for this sort of hostel type hotel so we were slightly disappointed. The bath has mold and we could not close the bathroom door. In summary, nice and clean, good location but over priced and let down because it is run down.

Food: the food is fine if you pick the specials. Lamb shank is good. They serve food till 9pm. The other food like burgers etc is quite awful. But the soup of the day is good. Breakfast is average.

One of my favourite retreats, offering clean and comfortable hotel rooms, year round bunk barn and a small campsite stepped up the hillside giving relative solitude.

Tasty and filling meals. Beer selection could be better but that's just picking. With decent phone signal and free wifi, it's a great place to stop off, or stay!

I've seen a lot of questions asking if it's quiet, good for kids, cozy etc.. I'll try to answer.

Through the summer holidays this hotel, and most descent ones in the area are very busy. Swallow falls seems popular during the summer months with school trips, families, and outdoorsy folk. It's a mile out of town and isn't 'lively' at night.
For cosy I head over in January and February, when the fires burning and the bars quiet. The waterfalls can freeze into stunning shapes, while the surrounding pine forests provide pleasant cover for winter strolls.
