Cannot speak highly of this place. Was travelling up from London for the night to lead teacher training the next day; typically I had under-estimated working outside of the city and expected to be able to call a cab the next day to take me to the place of work - nothing was too much for the staff. The hotel manager packed my bags into the back of his car and personally drove me to the venue. The human touch is often lost in our society - particularly in business - so this was refreshing and memorable. Food was okay. Bedroom very comfortable and friendly staff inside the bar during the evening. Would stay again. @TeacherToolkit

I spent a night here for work about two months back. The staff were helpful, the room was comfortable, I slept like a log in a clean well appointed room and the breakfast was spot on. It’s also in well tended and pretty grounds, with lots of parking. I even saw a squirrel! Highly recommended.

Great pub chain. Nice location lots of seating inside and out, weather permitting. Can get very busy so if it's a special occasion worth booking in advance. Friendly staff and good service. Food is good value and a reasonable quality.

We were looking to stay over at St Asaph as we were invited to a party. We made the perfect choice, nice hotel, excellent food and brilliant friendly staff. Nothing too much trouble for them. Would highly recommend anyone to stay at Talardy Pub/Hotel, we will be back.

Had a very good meal only wanted a quick snack. Had the mushroom pate and sweet potato chips. It was lovely. We sad we were in a hurry and it came quickly. Great. My friend had chicken and that was amazing too.

Good food, handy place to meet/stop and eat if travelling to Wales from Manchester way. Good service, friendly staff.

Staying in the new hotel building in a family room. The room seems to just be a double with a sofa turned into a bed and an extra bed but it fits us all fine. The only thing missing is a chest of drawers to unpack into but we might have lost that for the extra bed. The food is lovely as is the service just make sure to book a table as they can get very busy.

First time visiting the Talardy since it's recent refurbishment, and pleased to say it left a very good impression. Being a Marston's chain pub I would say the food was good rather than excellent, but then again this is reflected in the price, which offers great value. The main building itself has been refurbished to a very high standard and the interior decoration is tasteful and comfortable - offering a good choice of table sizes depending on your party. Speaking of size, the dining and bar areas are huge and open, so finding a table shouldn't be an issue. Outside there are a couple of covered seating areas for when the weather is changeable and a lovely garden area that looks like it would be a very pleasant place to enjoy a drink on a sunny day. There is also a brand new purpose built hotel accommodation block at the rear separate to the main building - worth a look if you are planning on staying in the local area. I would highly recommend the Talardy if you are after a quick bite to eat or drink.. lovely surroundings, good staff and good value even if the menu doesn't offer anything different to the standard chain pub fayre. The big spaces mean there isn't much atmosphere which is a bit of a shame, but that is nit-picking really. Will definitely call again.

High Standards pub and Hotel. Only issue is when I called and booked a table as a guest of the hotel when I turned up they had not booked me in. Ended up in the back room. Still nice but now what I wanted. Hoping this was a one off as it's quite new.
