TRACK ATTACK was the name of the game in Cardiff last night with 15 drivers taking part in four x fifteen minute sessions to determine who is the fastest over an hour. Weight categories were set to mirror the 2018 kart champs regs with over 80kg and under 80kg classes.
Of the big boys, Lewis Fazloodin dominated with an average time of 34.192, which was good enough to get him on to the podium for the under 80kg class. We had two first time podium visitors in second and third p...lace with John Richards on an average 35.037, shading son Michael Richards on an average 35.287.
In the under 80kg class, Neil Durrant put in an extremely consistent performance to take the top spot with an average lap of 34.033, leaving Thomas Seabrook to come second on a 34.144, and Adrian Davies third on a 34.247 rounded out the podium.
The next event we will be running is Kart Champs qualifying on the 15th of August. Spaces are limited, so book early to avoid disappointment.

Next open race event at TeamSport Cardiff is Kart Champs 2018 Cardiff Qualifier. Only 16 spaces available on this event - book now by requesting a call back in this thread or calling the office yourself on 01252 732 300.

So thanks to all that raced last night in the Members Open Race, which was run on the F2 Format. The racing was hard, and the heat did not help, as the drivers battled each other and the heat for supremacy.
Qualifying was a tight affair with the top eleven drivers covered by less than seven tenths of a second. Pole position went to Lewis Fazloodin with a 34.637. He was joined on the front row by Jack Jones on a 34.84 and Neil Durrant on a 34.886.
Off the line, Thomas Seabrook... got caught up in an incident which led to his retirement from race 1. The race quickly settled down into a rhythm, with every driver required to complete a 20 second pit stop during the race. After a good battle, and some variable performance from the back-markers!!
During the race, Jack Jones required a kart change which was completed during his 20 second stop. This led to some confusion over the result, which was resolved on examination of his race result, which clearly showed that the timing system had missed a lap. The points for the win were given to Jack Jones, so he took victory ahead of Luke Evans and Neil Durrant.
Race 2 featured a reverse grid sprint, over 15 minutes, which saw a lot of action in the opening laps. Race 1 retiree Thomas Seabrook led away, and built a lead in the early laps. Unfortunately, Luke Evans was cited for two instances of contact during the opening laps, and was duly penalised with a 20 second pit lane penalty. Luke elected to retire from the race at this point.
Jack Jones showed his class by climbing through the field, taking the lead on lap 12. He was followed by a very consistent Neil Durrant into second place, demoting Seabrook to third, which is where they finished.
Th points scored in each race meant that Jack Jones to the overall win, ahead of Neil Durrant and Lewis Fazloodin. Strong drives from Maison Graves and Gareth Davies saw them rounding out the top five with Lukasz Sienko finishing in sixth. Lukasz was the only other driver to receive a penalty during the meeting.
Following feedback, we will be looking at the use of blue flags in longer races in the near future, so hopefully will be able to add to the racing element.
A reminder that we are running Kart Champs qualifying on Wednesday the 15th of August. Space is limited, so please call to book ASAP. The price is £25.00 per driver and we expect it to fill quickly.

Results from this morning's TeamSport South West Junior Championship (Round Four of Five) at TeamSport Cardiff.
It was certainly an eventful morning with a few mechanical issues marring the cadet kart race. Championship leader Donovan Dyer took two race victories to take a big points haul and the round win ahead of Owen Hutt and Kelly Corcoran.
In the adult karts, Carlos Gardner took his first win of the series across two excellent races. Lewis Adams took second for his first... time on this track ahead of Alex Warnaby.
We now head to Birmingham for the final in two weeks time. The drop round system means it is all to play for. We have also announced 1.5x points. Timings for this event have changed slightly as we've swapped places with the Cadet Racer Academy. Championship drivers can also compete at this event at a special price of £20pp.

Went with my mates Dale Thomas and Karl Manley for members unlimited night, used my birthday session for 3x10 min session beforehand and remove a nearly a years rust from not racing in awhile, great night, good laugh, good drivers, no yellow flags, everyone in group went by the rules and drove properly which most drivers who go to karting should do instead being retarded like on most tracks. good fair racing, staff are great like always including smithy, 7 race sessions in total, a bronze trophy won, made top 10 fastest of the week and nabbed a 34 sec time.......not bad for not karting in nearly a year :-)

Went today with my two sons and I'm always very cautious when taking them with me but all the staff today looked out for them and we had a fantastic time. From booking to finish we delt with Abraham who was fantastic. Many thanks well be back soon.

Took my son and his friends, age 13/14 to the Junior Kart Day this morning.

4x 15 min sessions and refreshments. They had a great time and cannot wait to go again. Friendly staff who manage to make safety a priority but still let the kids have fun. Very well organised. Will definitely return.

This place is amazing. Booked for my sons 10th birthday with a party of 5boys. The staff were outstanding, couldn’t do enough to make sure everyone enjoyed. Thank u teamsport Cardiff !

The staff were absolutely delightful... really friendly and good fun. I was absolutely crap at karting, but still had a great time coming last!

If you've got teenagers who like to think they're better than you in every way, this is a great opportunity for a home goal!!! �

Staff are great and there really good at helping my 8 year old get up to speed. Really nice people and always happy!

Our son Coel came yesterday with a few friends for his 10th birthday. It was all there 1st time so were a little nervous. They were totally put at ease (as we were) by the staff. Shannon especially & all staff were very professional and were so lovely to the boys. The guy behind the cafe counter couldn't do enough for us. Sorry didn't catch names. Food was great as was the party room, the whole place was clean and well organised. Will definately be back!!! Ann Morgan.

My boy had his 11th birthday here. He had an amazing time. They really looked after the kids on the track.

Me & 4 of my mates went last Friday in Cardiff we all had an awesome time.

Must thank the staff too as 1 of numbers was very late & could of told him it was too late but he let him in during the safety briefing to get into his overalls so he could join our group & enjoy our night.

I especially like the 15 mins on & 15 mins off & back on again as it gave us time to recover our strength after driving these karts & get back onto driving thus giving us more experience on the track.

Me & my mates have got the go karting bug & looking to do the Nottingham & Birmingham courses in the near future.

I brought my son and six friends to TeamSport on Sunday for an 11th birthday treat. What a fantastic experience all round. The boys absolutely loved it and are all nagging to go again. The staff were friendly and capable, took safety very seriously but also helped to make it a really fun experience. The facilities were spotlessly clean, with options for trackside viewing or a quiet spectator lounge with drinks and snacks available. We'll definitely be back.

Had a great time with some people from work. We were lucky enough to get a 2 x 15 minute session, as the 3 x 10 minute sessions are just ridiculous! (Sorry).



Unfortunately we drew the short straw and were landed with a 13 others who played no attention to either the briefing, or the lights on the track. One of them smashed into the side of me on the hairpin after the down ramp and it was yellow lights for most of the race. As my friends and I were given 1 free session on the day for the inconvenience.



Great staff, great course, just hit and miss with other drivers, glad we are making this a regular thing.

Brought my son here with family and friends for his birthday he really enjoyed this experience as it was his first time the staff are really friendly and they sorted everything for us they loved the track and they said that the length of time on it was ample would definitely recommend to all my friends and family amd we are definitely going back :)

Brilliant fun. Went as a group of 15 for a birthday treat and it was great. Well organised and good facilities. Thanks to Ollie for looking after us and making it a great experience. Definitely recommend and will be back.

Been to Cardiff once before, this is our second visit, last time we come the track it was quite slippery.



The track has gripped up very nicely. Downstairs doesn't feel like an ice rink. Which means you can get more out of the corners. The S bit of the track is still a bit tricky but with the grip, it feels a lot quicker!

Last time we went Me 38.496 and James 39.228

This time we went Me 35.864 and James 36.854.

As you can see from the time difference it's a lot quicker. Really enjoyable track!



Like to thank all the staff at Teamsport Cardiff, James H, Tyler, James G, Shannon, Huw, Lestyn, Cam and Dan!! I want to say a very BIG thank you to Lucy and Abe. Both these member of staff were excellent hosts and made our time very enjoyable there. Lucy took a great photo of me and James in the karts. Looking forward to seeing you both again soon!

It's one of the best tracks that me and my son has been on but the only thing is that we can not see the bottom of the race track down stairs it would be nice to see all the track so cameras would be great to fit , and I got to say the staff are absolutely bloody brill , well done boys and girls xxx

Havent been yet but booked for my son for his birthday but he has come down with a sickness bug so day before i had to ring to see if i could rearrange as i was worried as have fully paid and wasnt sure they would allow me to.there was no problem and rearranged for 2 weeks later.so pleased my sons birthday treat isnt ruined.thankyou

Good - Excellent new venue, good experience.



Criticism - Need blue flags! Very dark in the bottom corner. Very cheeky asking for extra ££ for mandatory helmet liners, particularly as gloves are mandatory and free.

Came yesterday with a group of 9 for a stag Doo. Was great fun. My only negatives are that if you are gonna black someone you should show the number of the karting they want in the pit lane as I ended up in the pit lane for no reason. Also Marshalls should flag those who crash into others as I'm now covered in bruises down my spine for a crash yesterday. Otherwise amazing track and I will be back again
