We arrived about 5pm, browsed the menu, and decided what we would order, it was lovely and quiet, it soon got busy though. Our meals arrived, pork belly with mash and a mixed grill. My pork was so tasty, and my partners mixed grill was huge, but also delicious. Staff were very friendly and the service was excellent. Would highly recommend

Had really good night at The Acton Saturday night. Heard about live music playing and heard the band was good so thought might give it a try. Really good band, played some really good tunes and great atmosphere with lots of people joining in and singing along...will come again when have live music on..i have eaten there too and had no complaints

User

nice decor food OK but not fantastic. I went for the two course saver went to pay for it £6 45 then friends on table came to me ten minster later to say how hadn't paid enough. I went back to the bar only to be told I owed another £4 was told I had had the chicken off the main menu I said that was not my fault I had written down what I wanted with the other 18 friends I was with the waitress took the orders I was the only one who had a starter she even came back and asked if I wanted bbq or garlic on the chicken a right rip off was really angry

User

Went there for a nice relaxing meal a few days back having been given a voucher to spend at an Ember Inns establishment. Can't fault the food - but we were seated near the kitchen and the chef and his team had dance music belting out. The restaurant was busy so wait staff were constantly in and out meaning our relaxed meal out felt more like a rave party!!! Will head back to the Plas Coch next time I fancy a quick bite - better value and much nicer staff!!!

User

Top pub, great staff but the beer isn't worth the £3.60 a pint we're being charged. Its not been any good since you took fosters and strongbow out. Two in three pints are flat and tasteless....you really need to sort this problem out or I'll be going elsewhere

User

Never had a bad meal nice staff but constantly having bad real ales every week i have to take them back to the bar in exchange for another which usually isnt much better. Beer is good but i have lost faith in the real ales sorry.

User

When we arrived everything was good, until they brought the food out. One of the family had cling film in their food and also my burger was burnt to the max. We also gave them the cake for my birthday and had asked them if they could bring it out as we needed to leave and after asking 5 times, waiting an hour and 15 mins, it was brought out, with the waiters previously telling us it would be out as soon as we asked and it wasn’t. Also had no apology for the shocking service....

User

Visited the Acton last night with my partner and her 94 year old mum (Nana)who does not get out very often, we went to the bar to be told they had no Sauvignon Blanca white wine only Chardonnay or Pinot and to be honest couldn't believe it was like going into a tea shop that has run out of tea, if that wasn't bad enough my nanna who has a very specific dietary requirement asked for her usual fish meal and was told you had no fish as they run out was to be a disgrace, our mains eventually turned up 45 minutes after ordering for the young waitress to plonk my nanas meal in front of her to where half of her chips flew off her plate onto table! Her replacement meal of fish cakes was virtually inedible as it was like fried cardboard!

oh this gets better!!! I then went on red wine as no white I had one glass of merlot which was best thing of the night and thought I would then maybe have another as the conversation was flowing lovely and nana and my partner were having a nice catch up, as I went to the bar for another merlot to be told sorry we have run out of that now!

We visit here regularly when we visit wrexham and my partner gets to visit more often than I do as she is retired whilst I'm still in work

It's a treat for us all to be together and usually other family members join us

Thank goodness it was just the three of us last night to save what would have been a major embarrassment to all !!!

User

This place used to be great for food but last night was horrendous. Almost everything was burnt and service was so slow. Mentioned to the staff and all we got was an apology. The main issue with this place seems to be they are always so understaffed. Same people on the bar serving the food and the bar was really busy. Such a shame

User

Staff were nice but I’m afraid the meal wasn’t up to standard. Disappointing.

Prawn cocktail... never had such s chewy starter and I love prawn cocktail.

Roast sirloin beef ... roast potatoes only warm, beef tough, vegetables were not nice either

Salted caramel profiteroles.... very salty

User

My wife I went to the Acton Park today, just after 12 for lunch, went to order and was told they couldn’t take orders for at least an hour. How disappointing to be inform of there being a problem in the kitchen, there was a funeral party there at the time.

We were there exactly two weeks ago and ordered fish and was told they had no fish at all till tomorrow Friday.

We go to the Acton Park regularly because the menu has a variety of fish on,plus of course vegetarian. The food has always been very good and value for money, the staff are always polite and helpful, so what is going wrong. To be disappointed twice in two weeks, makes consider going somewhere else, but I do like it there, maybe it’s the hot weather.

User

I was really disappointed today I had organised a Baby Shower for 13 people our area was reserved but there just wasn’t enough staff! There were two people on the bar who were working as fast as they could and 1 person running food! It took ages to get drinks ages for all the food to come -which was average and not as good as it used to be and ages for it to be cleared. It’s a real shame as the Acton used to be one of the best. Definitely won’t be in a hurry to come back

User

Had to move table as the smoke from the fire was awful, the bar staff were told twice that we had moved, but we still had to follow them around the restaurant to claim our food ... food was average.. you get what you pay for I suppose. Always a nice atmosphere, however the fire needs looking at, what very smoky in parts of the restaurant.

User

What a shambles on christmas eve a young lad was taken ill so Landlord closed the bar which I find a bit strange but then once the ambulance had been they decided the pub was closed (10pm) The pub was fairly full and then the inevitable happened a group of young lads kicked off. I can't imagine this happening if Paul Belton was still in charge, but there again he knew how to run a pub. As for this landlord I only seen him as we were all leaving the pub that's how much he was bothered about the young lad.Seems more likley the pub had taken enough money all day and was more interested in an early finnish.

Went 21st January for my Antie's 70th birthday. There was 32 of us we pre booked a week ago. The food was shocking we arrived at 1pm and I ate my meal at 3.40 it was cold. Out of 32 meals not one of us enjoyed the food they were either cold or burnt. Would not recommend for anyone to eat here. 15 mins also to get served at the bar. The manger did not no what to do when we all complained

Very disappointed. Currently sat here. Food took 40 minutes to arrive .. not good when tied for time. Husband had to leave for dentist after starter and come back to eat main. Mine and daughters food arrived 40 minutes after ordering and it was awful. Cold and dried up. It was cooked through but got impression it had sat on counter for 10 minutes plus. It's currently 3.21 and the dessert I ordered at 13.41 not arrived yet. And I'm on lunch break from work...... not impressed at all.

nice decor food OK but not fantastic.

This place used to be great for food but last night was horrendous. Almost everything was burnt and service was so slow. Mentioned to the staff and all we got was an apology. The main issue with this place seems to be they are always so understaffed. Same people on the bar serving the food and the bar was really busy. Such a shame

Staff were nice but I’m afraid the meal wasn’t up to standard. Disappointing.

Prawn cocktail... never had such s chewy starter and I love prawn cocktail.

Roast sirloin beef ... roast potatoes only warm, beef tough, vegetables were not nice either

Salted caramel profiteroles.... very salty

Walked in waited at the bar and nobody there to serve me or the other 8/9 people who where also waiting had to stop a chef who was taking food out yes a chef running food not only cooking it but serving as well , when I did finally get my drink and ordered my food it tuck 35 minutes for a burger , ok a chef brought it to me and said sorry for the wait but there trying to do everything from cooking and bringing it out , I knew Paul Belton and also Simon Cooke as I'm a pub manger myself . one thing I do know who ever is running this place now is sure running it straight into the ground , when staff say sorry and tell customers that the mangers don't know how to run this place he is a yes no man it tells you one thing Change your dam manger , no smiling from bar staff or chefs , they all look very unhappy to be there such a shame , hope this posts helps the staff more than anything
