A fantastic family run hotel, canot fault anything about our stay.
Booked a 2 night stay. As soon as i opened the room door i realised it was more like a refuge for the homeless. Absolutely awful place. Decor is absolutely ridiculous, beds are old and rikety. The duvet seemed thicker than the mattress. It wasnt possible for 2 people to walk around the room at the same time.
I immediately booked a room at the local premier inn as there was no way i was staying in the Albany. Unfortunately I still had to pay for the first night there even though i was there for 10 minutes. I do not recommend this place at all and wouldnt even rate it a single star
Dismal - I Booked this hotel on the strength of the positive reviews and what I thought was a reasonable price. I realised I had made a mistake upon entering and had our details read by the drill sergeannt on reception. We booked in and booked out again twenty minutes later. The bed was cheap and too low and whilst the linen was clean the duvet was not. The window was cracked and held open with a block of wood. The bath was a mish mash of bits of sealent with the shower head nailed to a piece of wood. There was a dip in the bathroom floor where water had collected. The toilet itself was clean but there was dirt and fluff behind it and the edges of the floor were a stranger to a mop. On the way out the owner reminded us this was a two star hotel. I told him we had stayed in hotels all over Europe and this was by far the worst. No matter what the star rating if you are charging guests there is a certain standard by which you must maintain your hotel. I'm Sorry to say the Albany falls short
Went to a wedding there and it was really well done. The view is amazing. The staff ate polite.
It's not a new building but the room was quiet warm and comfortable, food was excellent
Lumpy beds grotty rooms and not cheap. Tidy breakfast and friendly staff though
