Traditional dog friendly pub with open fire and they even had a vegan option for Sunday roast! Bar man was very helpful and there was a lovely, friendly atmosphere. Close to Newton beach.

This was a return visit after we had visited there on previous occasions. I now have special dietary needs on this occasion & can only manage a soft diet, that was not a problem & they served up a lovely main meal of cottage pie, mash & gravy followed by a sponge pudding and custard for dessert. The staff were very willing to assist me with my needs & were also very friendly. My wife enjoyed her main meal of fishcakes, chips & beans. Both meals were very filling & delicious. We complimented the staff for their excellent service & will continue going back at later dates.

Lovely family run pub. So welcoming and helpful. Great home cooked food, especially the roasts - the gravy is epic!

Andrew, Chris and team (inc. cats) totally looked after a group of 30-40 over 2 nights helping making the Porthcawl Powerboat and Jet Ski Club May Day ride out a great success. Thanks guys xxx

User

Beautiful Sunday lunch, service a little slow but was worth the wait, only 1 roast potatoes was the only downside but was told we could have ordered an extra portion, I would have if I’d known as they were excellent, gravy was also beautiful, will come back and ask for extra roast potatoes next time.

User

Ate here tonight and the food and service were fantastic.

Big portions, reasonable prices and really enjoyable food. I'd highly recommend the Asian platter or the lasagne.

We'll be sure to return when we are next in the area.

User

Always a great welcome with a Relaxed, friendly, comfortable atmosphere with great food, and great staff.

User

Sunday dinner is a must ! Gravy is best I've had , great pub with a lovely green plus church out side , great place to have a drink in the sun 😉

User

Had lunch out the beer garden and was lovely, especially because our dogs were with us too. I shall visit there again when next in Porthcawl x

User

Dog friendly. Gotta be worth 4 stars on itself. Beer though is pretty standard Brains stuff, so don't expect anything exciting. Wales` most boring brewery.

User

Ha food here today , ordered 2 corn beef pies and a curry. My pie was freezing in the middle so sent it back, took about ten minutes to bring me my meal back, had fresh chips and peas but the pie had been heated in the microwave to a point that the pastry was solid and inedible, so payed £8 odd for chips and peas. Don’t think I will be in a rush to return

User

Ate dinner here today and the Sunday dinner was lovely . Altho had to ask for cutlery and serving spoons . Lamb a bit fatty . Ordered deserts waiting 30 mins + for it and the syrup sponge was over cooked a firm . The apple pie was nice altho put in a hot bowl so ice cream was melted and the apple and blackberry crumble was inedible it was watery liquid . And we had to wait another 5 mins as we had no cutlery again . Such a shame as it's a lovely place and busy .
