About The Big Issue Cymru

The Big Issue Cymru is the Welsh branch of The Big Issue, one of the UK’s leading social businesses, which offers homeless and vulnerably housed people the opportunity to earn a legitimate income

The Big Issue Cymru Description

The Big Issue Company publishes a weekly news and arts magazine, which Big Issue sellers (or vendors) buy for £1. 25 and sell for £2. 50, thereby earning £1. 25 per copy. Any post investment profit generated through the sale of the magazine or the sale of advertising is passed on to our charity, The Big Issue Foundation. The Foundation is also reliant upon donations from the public to fund its crucial work with vendors.

hi my name is Peter Robinson and with out the big issue i would have really struggled when i i was on the streets of Bristol. but when i was homeless i had to prove i was homeless b4 i could become a vendor and i am disgusted to be reading the echo from Cardiff to find out that 2 of your vendors have just got married on the donations of local people of Cardiff. To find out they have a 5 year old son so that means the have somewhere to live. So that means they are taking a pitch and job of real homeless people of Cardiff and it saddens me to see wot the big issue have evolved in to. I thought i would never feel the way about the big issue as i do now. Romas all ways have band new clothes on shoes and mobile phones and gold teeth and it has to stop or the people that support you and the many homeless people of not just the Cardiff but the hole of the UK and it is a shame cos as i said i sold the issue for 2 1/2 years and i thank you for the help you gave me not just the job you gave me when no one els would but for the extra help by giving me some one to talk to when i needed it but the story in the south wales echo has disgusted me i am very sorry to say how can this happen

It's an engaging and lively mix of opinion, entertainment and interesting factual and news coverage. It helps vulnerable people to help themselves by working their way towards the life they want for themselves and gives them support to do so.

User

I love The Big Issue because there's a good description of problems people face without bias. I get fed up with reading about people criticising/defending the status quo instead of co-operating to fix it. You are part of the solution. I like the articles about current affairs + entertainment too. Add Street Cat Bob and my life is complete! ♡
