The Big Rock Cafe

A hidden gem in the heart of Porthmadog, recently renovated and skylight added. Quite delightful and a great menu, lots of new tastes. They now accept cards and there is free wifi.

When the treats are gone, they're gone! Don't arrive late to avoid disappointment. Warm and cosy cafe with relaxed atmosphere.

Great food, good prices, lots of options. Had a pizza and a salad bar for 5£ and an elderflower & lemon frappe for £3. Glad I stopped in.

Nice place and atmosphere: easy going and pleasant and dog friendly too, which is a real plus. As a dad with a little girl, more inclusive toileting and baby changing facilities would be great. Trying to use the pokey stall and small sink is nigh on impossible and this always makes dads feel a little second rate. Otherwise, a lovely chilled out place for a brew.

Its got a great vibe, always busy, beware the two line system for takeout and sit in which isn't declared on entry. Organic bread on Fridays, self service soup for speedy lunches, imaginative combinations. Go every time we are in town.

Really nice food and friendly staff. Were very busy when we arrived but we were still able to find a seat as some people squished up to let us in. There is some quite conservative Christian poster about the place and scripture on the napkins - just so you know...

Great food, great choice, big portions, cosy and relaxed seating area.

Only down side is service at the counter can be a bit chaotic and busy, but don't be put off.

I really love it here. Really good coffee, friendly service, super fresh food made on site. All this along with WiFi, sofas, kid friendly, log burner great art. Only down side was no card reader.

Great selection of veggie/ vegan options. Kids love it here too! Impossible to leave without buying amazing home made bread or cakes. Only downside is there's no card machine, which can be a pain if you've forgotten to take money out beforehand.
