What a party... What a night!!!!

The venue is beautiful and the BBQ food was Fab. Everyone had an Amazzzzing time. The staff are so helpful. We also stayed in the rooms at the hotel.. Our suite was very big & spotless. As was all 3 rooms. Cost included breakfast which was lovely; including cereals, full English, teas, coffee & juice. Special thanks to Lynne who was very attentive throughout our stay. & Colette.... Thank you sooooo much for everything that went into planning our special night & how it turned out.

Thank you xxxx

User

We went up for lunch for the first time on Sunday as we walked in the door we were met by a member of staff who showed us to the table and was very polite we ordered drinks and food at the same time our drinks were with us with in minutes and our food was brought out in less than 10 minutes.

The beef was cut nice and thick and there was more than enough on the plate when they brought out the tureen I thought to my self there's 3 of us and only 2 tureen dishes with peas, boiled potatoes, cabbage and cauliflower cheese.

To my surprise the was more than enough fresh veg to go around the 3 of us especially as there were roast potatoes carrots and a Yorkshire pudding on the plate. When they brought out the gravy we had a gravy boat each and it was proper gravy

The jam sponge with custard was best dessert I've ever had

5* from us the food was outstanding and the staff were polite, friendly and couldn't do enough for us we can't wait to come back again thanks

User

We walked from Ynyshir to the pub, had a few drinks and a bit to eat.

User

We booked a meal for 13 people at short notice, with no pre-booked meals. Despite this, and the fact that there was also another large group in the restaurant, the service was very prompt. The food was lovely and the portion sizes were large. The waitresses and bar staff were friendly and made sure we had everything we wanted. We will definitely be returning x

User

Staff were welcoming , lovely location pub.. food was lovely & locals were really friendly.

Would defiantly visit there again...

Also dog friendly which is a great bonus as will take the dogs next time to.

Fabulous views & great walks around where also.šŸ‘

User

I had my sons 2nd birthday party today in the marquee. I cannot fault it one bit. Stress free the whole thing was perfect and great value for money. The food was delicious. I will be booking more party's there in the near future. Thank you all very much!!!

User

Came here along with my 7 friends last night for the masquerade ball and we had a fantastic night! We had a three course meal, the food was superb, we couldnā€™t fault it. The staff were lovely and the event was so well organised. A very festive night got us right in the mood for Christmas!

User

Called in yesterday for first time after dog walk through the woods and so impressed with this pub. Staff incredibly friendly and so were the regulars great pint of HPA and excellent soup will definitely be back in the summer when weather a bit drier ...,

User

Booked a party of over 20 people to attend the masquerade ball for our Christmas Party on Friday night and what can I say from the moment we arrived we were blown away by the whole evening. From the beautiful setting within the marquee, to the three course meal provided and the fantastic entertainment. Nothing was to much trouble for all the staff and a great evening was had by everyone that attended.

User

Be warned only go here if you want a lovely atmosphere, great food and superb service all in the most beautiful spot. Thank you so much for a lovely evening out.

User

A lovely, special, and friendly pub/restaurant in a delightful location. The food is delicious and service first class. I can highly recommend this place for evening meals and Sunday lunches, but you will need to book....!

User

The food for Sunday lunch was absolutely beautiful, not five stars as the waitress serving us was slow taking orders for drinks and for taking dessert order. She could do with smiling

User

We went to the Brynffynnon for Sunday lunch and it was absolutely beautiful. Polite and pleasant staff, the food was delicious and efficient service. It was due to this positive experience that I wanted to return for afternoon tea however, staff didnā€™t seem too concerned about receiving my custom. I rang and left a voicemail (as advised on the telephone message for the automated booking system) and was told someone would be in touch with me. Not a single person got back in touch with me. I then messaged via the Facebook page and this took over 2 days to resolve which in the end, resulted in me not being able to go to the afternoon tea on my preferred date. Staff kept apologising for the delayed response but didnā€™t seem to do anything about it. After numerous prompts from myself, staff told me that theyā€™d ā€œbe in touch within the hourā€ and this was yet another false promise. Really disappointed as I was looking forward to returning but it makes me question the whole booking system and whether the Brynffynnon even wanted my custom at all!

User

We hav been to the pub a few times for sunday lunch ,had to book 2wks in advance but yesturday phoned an hour b4 and had a place , pulled up at carpark 4 cars there n thought wow usually busy, 2 young girls serving were lovely n very helpful , but when food arrived i had to ask what one of the veg was as it turned out it was cauliflower cheese, other veg was ok but the beef omg i needed a saw to cut it it was tough n very chewy, but it put us off sorry but wont be goin again and as me n my hubby work all week we eat out every sunday but wont be goin back here .

User

Went here for afternoon tea on Sunday 18th June. There were 47 of us. Food ordered in advance and dietary requirements were discussed and agreed. Then on the day no dietary requirements were met as there was "too many of them". Told to "eat what we could". Food was warm, limp and tasteless. No hot drinks offered to us. Service was awful, staff rolled their and huffed at each other when talking about us. Food was brought out and then left on a table while the staff dithered about putting it on each table. The cream for the scone was room temperature, the jelly not set and the sandwiches stale. We left more than we ate. I wouldn't recommend going here. Waste of money and time. PS if you order a child's afternoon tea it comes with 2 quarters of sandwich. Not enough to keep a 7 or 5 year olds full. Had to cook everyone a meal when we got home. Toilets are porter cabins and aren't suitable for people with disabilities, larger people or like me taking a child in. They're very tight and we had to get in around the toilet, close the door then move to use the toilet.

User

This establishment will take your money for booking a meal but may then cancel and refuse to refund your money.

This happened last Friday to a party booked in for a celebratory Xmas meal. Each person paid Ā£25 but on arrival were told the event was being cancelled due to the snow. However, even though the owners cancelled, they are refusing to refund the money paid....instead they are offering each person a Ā£10 voucher!

Seeing as thereā€™s no proof of any god whatsoever then your excuse ā€œitā€™s an act of godā€ is a load of absolute bullshit, equivalent to that used by insurance companies to get out of paying a claim. Was it also an ā€œact of godā€ that blighted your sight from seeing the white stuff falling from the sky and covering the roads? - which, incidentally, had closed the Ferndale road to yourselves early on Friday morning. ļæ½ Was it an ā€œact of godā€ that prevented any of your staff from gritting the pathway to make it safer for your customers? Was it an ā€œact of godā€ that prevented you from telling your customers for almost 2 hours that the band wouldnā€™t turn up and they would need to contact their transport providers to get home? - pretty convenient that one, that you managed to get money from the customers for their beverages but no food was served during this time ļæ½

May I suggest communication between your staff so that customers get the same advice and are not blatantly lied to regarding the weather conditions and the agreement of refunds!!!

Be warned only go here if you want a lovely atmosphere, great food and superb service all in the most beautiful spot. Thank you so much for a lovely evening out.

A lovely, special, and friendly pub/restaurant in a delightful location. The food is delicious and service first class. I can highly recommend this place for evening meals and Sunday lunches, but you will need to book....!

The food for Sunday lunch was absolutely beautiful, not five stars as the waitress serving us was slow taking orders for drinks and for taking dessert order. She could do with smiling

We walked from Ynyshir to the pub, had a few drinks and a bit to eat.
