The Bvs - Beautiful Voices

I am Erin Simms, Singing & Performance Teacher based in Pontypool. I founded "The BVs" (Beautiful Voices) in 2013: a group of talented youths who are all my private students.

The BVs are a group of talented children ranging from ages 5 - 13yrs (this age can vary from time to time). I founded The BVs in November 2013 and the aim of these lessons is to build confidence, create friendships, showcase individual talents and then as a group, perform in several shows throughout the year and enjoy being part of something musical and fun!

If we are not rehearsing for a show, I work with the children on singing, acting and building their confidence. Many children have started my lessons a little anxious and very shy but are now happily performing on stage in front of lots of people! I teach a great group of non-judgemental youth who "encourage" each other rather than criticise. I will not tolerate any type of bullying or snide remarks that would make a child question their own abilities - although this has never been an issue within my lovely group, in all honesty.

A little about me: I have been a Singer /Songwriter for over 20 years and have written and recorded many of my own songs which you can hear at www. reverbnation.com/eringannonsimms Many of my songs are aired worldwide and some of my material has been signed to publishers in Canada, USA and UK. In November 2011, I began my training as a Singing Teacher /Vocal Coach studying at Level 4 "Advanced Diploma in Contemporary Vocal Teaching" with online school VIDLA and I qualified in August 2013. I have been teaching ever since.

I prepare students for acting exams through LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts) with 100% pass rate so far. I also prepare students for singing exams through LCM (London College of Music).

I only teach private, one-to-one lessons at my home for those that want to take singing a bit more seriously and be taught in more depth about the science behind the voice. I also like to include some drama studies within the lesson to break it up a bit as I believe it compliments singing greatly. My students also have the opportunity to record at my home from time to time, using my equipment and taking their recording home on CD. These lessons are for all ages above 8 years through to adulthood. Prices are:

Ages 8-15yrs

30 minutes £7
40 minutes £10 (including discount on "recording")
60 minutes £12 (not recommended for children under 12yrs - recording fees included as they take place within the lesson)

Ages 16 + (more indepth and can include song-writing tips /recording techniques if desired)

40 minutes £13
60 minutes £15

Private lessons take place in my home and prices will include handouts and CDs.
