The Clifton Hotel Description
The Clifton was originally Built in 1886. We are just one of very few remaining traditional bars within the Community
It is Allegedly haunted and a wooden leg is said to be buried in the cellar, The Clifton was nicknamed Dyffy's tavern in the 1950's after the rugby team who made it their local.
Since being built, the bar and lounge has swapped roles. The current bar used to have a 'snug' partitions and a large fire.
This is a very busy pub in part because of its position at the intersection of Clifton Street and Broadway and is well frequented by Patrons from Plasnewydd, Adamsdown, Splott and Tremorfa
Occasional passing trade from contractors and students pop in, but it is very much a locals pub, set in the traditional style, with a concession for younger customers in the pool room which also shows live Sport from BT and SKY SPORTS
We also have entertainment by way of Karaoke /Disco Every Wednesday from 7. 30pm-11. 00 pm and Saturdays from 8. 00pm - 11. 30PM.
