It's a proper country pub, with beautiful rambling roses around the front, lovely outdoor undercover sitting area which is again adorned with beautiful flowers
Food is great and reasonably priced also added bonus they allow dogs in there (as long as they are well behaved😉)
The staff are friendly and the ambience is great ...

Just a nice village pub.

Visited for a family members birthday party so food and alcohol sampled....

Nice village pub with a small restaurant area, we had around 30 guests and if you were to start trying to sit more then it would start to feel cramped in the dedicated area and would need to start filling the lounge bar seating. Not ideal but then it's a village pub after all.

Typical cosy decor for a village Inn and it has a small outdoor sitting area for nice weather, there isn't much provision for children to play though which is a shame as it seems a perfect place for a pint in the summer but without a play area you won't be staying long. There's a sign on the bar saying that misbehaving children will be sold to the Circus and whilst its somewhat humouring and ment tongue in cheek it gives a glimpse that perhaps their best left at home.

Food, nothing of note on offer just the typical meals you'd expect at a reasonable price and of reasonable quality, one of the guests had fish that was undercooked but again it's a village pub serving 30 odd meals so a mistake should be accepted. My meal a Gammon steak was a good sized meal and nicely cooked so no complaints. The service was good with the waitresses very polite and helpful aswell.

Expensive to drink here though, a pint of larger shandy was priced at £3.50 the same as a bottle of Kopparberg which I thought was quite expensive for just a shandy. So expensive in fact that I had to query the price of the Kopparberg thinking it was that which was bumping the price up. I didn't drink the larger straight (driving) but at that price for a shandy then I would expect it to be over £4 a pint.

It deserves 3 stars and would give it more if there was just something about the place that made us want to return but without any recreation for the kids and alcohol priced like Marston's we can't see much point.
