This is a traditional oak beamed pub and we received a friendly welcome. When we complained though about the food - probably the worst attempt at a Ploughman's I've ever seen (no bread or pickle) - the manager became surly and defensive. Her idea of an apology was to take 90p off the meal. We later found out the 'chef'' had just started in the role after previously being the barman. Good pub, shame about the staff.

We stopped here for breakfast while on a cycling tour. The landlord was great and couldn't do more for us. He let us store the 7 bikes in a locked area while we ate inside. The second Lions test was playing on the TV so the place was packed, yet service was quick and the breakfast baguettes were brilliant. I could not fault this pub and I highly recommend it!

Service and food were top notch. I had the lamb burger, it was something good, I almost ordered another one.
