Popped in for a lunchtime meal nice looking pub but after being sat waiting for 15 minutes we decided to go elsewhere because no one showed up to serve us or take an order

The staff was really nice but I wasn't impressed by the food at the eagle in. Less than average.

It's cute... lots of character. .. food is shocking. Microwave pie and chips with some frozen peas thrown in. .. for a tenner. Nope. Wouldn't recommend.

My sister brought my wife and I to this pub. The food was excellent and the service very good. As a Rev James, I had to try a pint of the Rev James bitter, which was excellent. The management even gave me a glass to with a potted history of the original Rev James. Many thanks.
This was a wonderful conclusion to an excellent meal and I will go there again.
Many thanks to the staff who looked after us so well.

Rev James Turner.

We discovered this place on the way home from holiday in North Wales in 2016. We loved it so much, we made a point of stopping again in 2017! Fab food, enormous portions, for a reasonable price. We love the atmosphere there, and had another warm welcome. I had the chicken, ham and leek pie, and it was gorgeous. The owner is very friendly too.

What can I say about the Eagle?!?! This is our 'local' -- well, with the Cornhill. But we *always* go to the eagle because quite frankly, they have the best food in town, by FAR. Bob sources the /best/ ingredients, and makes the most fantastic steaks you will ever get. Up to 32 onces of *perfection*.
Not only that, but he gets a lot of local game his pies, stews, curries etc. The pub itself is very 'old style', but it's also the best place in town for a beer in the garden in summer; overlooking the valleys. highly recommended, obviously!
