As some of you may have heard, The Lemon Factory has been closed this week due to damage to the roof at the back of the nightclub. After several discussions from ourselves and the building owners, it seems they have put the cost of fixing it entirely on us. In the past days we have seeked prices to fix it and being an independent music venue and with no help from the building owners, we just simply cannot afford to fix it and it is not safe to open to the public. We have had ...many discussions on what to do, and this has not been an easy decision to make, but we regret to inform you that The Lemon Factory - Underground Music Venue is now closed. We wish we could have done one last party to thank you all, but as stated earlier, it is not safe to open to the public.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank every single person who has walked down the stairs and into the famous underground venue. Along with your help, we gave something to special to Swansea that can never be replicated and we leave here with some amazing memories, but it is you, the people who have supported us who have made it all worth it!
From bands like Sham 69 to giving local talent a platform to play, even our famous Indie nights and massive DJs from Barac to Devilman, we have put on some massive nights for Swansea and we know there will never be a place with an atmosphere like Lemon again!
We'd also like to thank our staff and promoters who really have been the greatest people to work with in this industry.
We ask you one thing, please support your local independent venues and your local music scene before you lose it!
This is not the end of The Lemon Factory, this is just the beginning!
