Happy birthday to our co-founder and all round brains and brawn behind The Forge, Jamie! ππΎπ . Happiest when sitting around a campfire with a cold beer cooking up a load of sausages πππΊ . Good to see that old age has still not sorted out his dubious taste in socks! π§¦ππ€£

What fun we had at the weekend on our very first Forage and Feast event! πΏπ₯π₯©
Everyone got involved in the hunt for wild edibles π before we rolled up our sleeves to make our own wild garlic and jack-of-the-hedge bannock bread over the campfire. π₯π₯
We also experimented with a transatlantic mash up of Welsh wild venison marinated in American spice berry and sumac rub - a triumph we all agreed, especially when stuffed inside the warm stick bread! πΊπΈπ΄σ §σ ’σ ·σ ¬σ ³σ Ώ
. .. And to wash it all down, lots of sloe gin made from The Forge's own hedgerows, with the gin-soaked berries used to make sloe berry chocolate truffles. Definitely one for the adults only! π·π«
The kids were more than happy toasting marshmallows and sword fighting with the bannock sticks though, so everyone went home with smiles on their faces! π’π
Thank you to everyone who came and made the event such a success. And a massive shout out to Sara Bir (The Sausagetarian) for her foraging wisdom and to Jamie Corry from the Wild Bushcraft Company for the magnificent venison butchery and cooking skills! ππ
