The Hermitage - Buddhist Meditation And Retreat Centre

The Hermitage is a Buddhist Retreat Center of the Awakened Heart Sangha founded by Lama Shenpen Hookham. It is a wonderful place with an amazing teacher and a supportive and welcoming community of people committed to the Buddhist path. It is a beautiful, peaceful place to visit.

Always happy to be here for my Buddhist practice - meditation, retreats and having discussions with other practitioners. The one to one interviews I had with Lama Shenpen were very helpful and inspiring.

A wonderful place to study and practice meditation and Buddhism, with a fantastic teacher with a direct connection to such an amazing lineage of Tibetan Buddhist teachers. Feel very lucky and glad to have found such a special place!

I have been studying Lama Shenpen's home study course on Meditation and Buddhism for a few years now, and love coming to the Hermitage for meditation days and longer retreats whenever I can. The setting is beautiful, peaceful North Wales countryside, not far from the coast and everyone is lovely and very welcoming. It's a privilege to be part of a group with such a wonderful teacher who really understands the needs of her students & is part of such a special lineage of teachers. Highly recommend for all those interested in Buddhism and meditation!
