The Jam Shop Rehearsal Studios

The jam shop rehearsal studios opened in Cartlett Haverfordwest in 2004. shortly after opening we started music workshop's, which led to music therapy workshop's for children and adults with learning difficulties and disabilities. One particular session in the studios has stuck with me for years Ian's mother Brenda wrote the following paragraph about it: "My son Ian has a severe learning disability, physical disabilities and, at times challenging and difficult behaviour. He has always enjoyed listening to and playing music and through Lindsay and the jam shop he has been able to develop these skills. He has no speech so we have to make judgement from his behaviour, facial expression and body language, and it is evident when we arrive at the jam shop that this is his favourite place. He walks in as if he owns it! ! and would stay all day given the chance. He has gained a huge amount from these sessions and his confidence has increased to the point where he will make his own decisions as to how the session should develop and will happily communicate with the staff, who have treated him with patience and respect at all times. I think that it gives him an outlet to express himself and to show his feeling through experimenting with sound. Lindsay and the jam shop have between them, changed the direction of Ian's life and have opened up doors that we never knew existed. He has had the most wonderful summer. We will be setting up a foundation for music therapy in 2015 with our main goal being the provision of music therapy workshops around the UK and with the intention of expanding Globally, this will be achieved by injecting 49% of all sales from rooftops live lounge including our branded clothing into the foundation. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . you may ask yourself why are we doing this?"Many persons have a wrong idea of what constitutes true happiness.
